Additionally, the Controller is responsible for directing the financial functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with appropriate financial management techniques and practices. The Controller is responsible for the overall management of the accounting department.\nEssential Functions:\nMaintain the confidence of the corporation’s shareholders, lenders and board members through timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting\nSupport financial reporting by creating the monthly accounting reporting package and performing key variance analysis\nPartner across internal teams, solving complex business scenarios\nIdentify, create, and perform key internal controls\nOwn the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries, reserves and accruals; and reconciliation of balance sheet account\nHave knowledge of government bid process regarding TINA and CAS compliance\n Percent complete (POC) understanding in a manufacturing environment\nOverhead rate development for internal and external bids and associated inventory valuation\nAnnual development and review of overhead rates\nEnsure profitable commercial contracts and customer deal analysis\nExtensive knowledge and experience with technical US GAAP, intercompany accounting and consolidation, and internal control development and documentation\n Support all other functional areas with world class metrics (KPI’s) that helps them achieve their objectives\n Partner with GM’s in understanding financial results and implementing working capital improvement initiatives\nQualifications\nJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):\nAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask\nExcellent organization skills with strong attention to detail\nExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required\nExcellent communication both written and verbal\nMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nWorking knowledge of ERP systems \nExcellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities\nEducation, Certifications and Experience:\n10+ years of progressive industry experience in accounting\nBachelor's Degree in Accounting\nCPA license preferred\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nWorking conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.\nAll employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
