About us
We're a multicultural team of experts pushing the boundaries of what's possible in integrated optics. Our mission is to make photonic integration accessible and industrially scalable. We deliver best-in-class PIC platforms, design enablement, and integrated solutions that empower our customers to innovate faster and bring light-based technologies from concept to production.
About the role
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will own, develop, and qualify the core unit processes that make our silicon nitride platform manufacturable, high-yielding, and robust. Positioned at the intersection of process development and industrial scale-up, you will lead complex engineering projects end-to-end, providing technical guidance to fellow engineers while keeping processes strictly within spec. In this high-impact position, you will drive process capabilities, resolve root-cause excursions, and directly shape how our next-generation integrated photonics platforms transition into high-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
* Process Development & Qualification: Develop, qualify, and thoroughly document unit processes across lithography, thin film deposition, etching, and back-end processing.
* Technical Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end projects of increased complexity, providing technical direction to engineers and ensuring seamless execution and quality.
* Process Control & Yield Optimization: Maintain process specifications, set control limits (SPC), design experiments (DoE), and interpret capability data to optimize stability and yield.
* Excursion & Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate process excursions to root cause and implement long-term corrective actions via documented change management.
* Production Transfer & Ramp: Successfully transfer newly developed unit processes to volume production and support ramp-up activities.
* Quality & Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute actively to our Quality Management System (QMS).
What you bring
* Education: University or HES degree in Materials Science, Microengineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
* Experience: Proven track record with several years of experience leading complex semiconductor/photonic process engineering projects from concept to completion.
* Process Expertise: Deep expertise in semiconductor unit process development, statistical process control (SPC), Designed Experiments (DoE), metrology, and failure analysis techniques.
* Cleanroom Operations: Rigorous cleanroom discipline, strong process documentation habits, and hands-on familiarity with fab environments.
* Problem-Solving & Communication: Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills paired with strong communication capabilities to collaborate across local and remote teams.
* Mindset: An open-minded, critical, and innovative approach with high technical autonomy and accountability.
* Languages: Working proficiency in English is required; French is a strong plus.
What we offer
A dynamic role at the heart of the deep-tech revolution where your technical expertise directly impacts product adoption. You will join an international team of specialists, gain deep exposure to market-leading photonic applications, and shape how photonic integration is deployed worldwide.
Practicalities
* Location: Ecublens / Lausanne, Switzerland.
* Work percentage: 100%.
* Languages: English is our working language, other languages are a plus.
* Home office: up to two days per week.
* Start date: As soon as possible.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
