AI is not an add-on here; it’s embedded into how we design, build, and scale.\nIf you actively leverage AI to move faster, think in systems, and enjoy operating in ambiguity - this role is for you.\nWhat You'll Do Here\nCollaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to build scalable, AI-powered product experiences.\nDesign, implement, and maintain highly scalable and performant backend services using Ruby on Rails.\nBuild modern, responsive frontend applications using React.js (and React Native where applicable).\nIntegrate AI-driven capabilities into business workflows (LLM-powered features, intelligent automation, semantic search, copilots, or workflow agents).\nArchitect systems that combine traditional service-oriented architecture with AI components (model APIs, orchestration layers, evaluation loops).\nContinuously improve code quality through refactoring, automated testing, system testing, and deployment automation.\nLeverage AI development tools responsibly to increase velocity and maintain high-quality standards.\nReview code developed by other engineers and provide thoughtful feedback on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability - including AI-generated code.\nMaintain a deep understanding of business requirements and partner with stakeholders to design thoughtful, scalable solutions.\nCollaborate across marketing, platform, DevOps, data, product, and analytics teams to ensure engineering decisions align with broader company goals.\nUse data and experimentation to make informed engineering and product decisions.\nMonitor production systems, including AI-driven features, using observability and monitoring tools.\nWhat You Bring\n2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.\n2+ years of production experience with Ruby on Rails.\n 2+ years of experience with React.js or React Native.\nHands-on experience integrating or building AI-powered features into business workflows (e.g., LLM integrations, AI-assisted user experiences, automation pipelines).\nExperience designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining service-oriented architectures.\nStrong experience with relational and non-relational databases.\nExperience navigating ambiguous and complex project requirements with ownership and clarity.\nExperience with observability and monitoring systems (NewRelic, CloudWatch, Sentry).\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills.\nA product mindset with the ability to balance deterministic software systems and probabilistic AI systems.\nBonus Points For\nExperience building AI copilots, internal productivity tools, or intelligent automation systems.\nFamiliarity with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or AI retrieval patterns.\nExposure to Elasticsearch.\nExperience with React Native.\nExperience working with Docker and containerized environments.\nFamiliarity with the Amazon AWS ecosystem.\nExperience working in a small, fast-moving team, ideally at a startup.\nContributions to AI-related side projects, prototypes, or open-source initiatives.\nWhy This Role Is Different\nAI is embedded in our product strategy and engineering culture.\nEngineers are encouraged to experiment, prototype, and rethink workflows through intelligent automation.\nYou’ll help shape how AI is implemented across the organization - not just consume APIs.\nThe following compensation information is provided to comply with job posting disclosure requirements in Colorado, New York, Washington, and California.\nBase Pay Range: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00. Basepay will vary depending on several factors, such as the position, location, qualifications of the individual, market conditions, and other operational business requirements.
