You will play a critical role in supporting treasury-related activities across financing arrangements, capital investments, vendor obligations, cash management, hedging, and financial reporting. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Infrastructure Operations, Accounts Payable, and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and scalable treasury processes.\nThis is a high-impact role for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with an operational mindset. You will help evaluate complex financing structures, support accounting conclusions, maintain documentation, and strengthen the control environment around treasury activities. The treasury scope is deep, leadership visibility is high, and the work directly supports capital allocation, infrastructure growth, audit readiness, and financial accuracy.\nThis is a hybrid role based in San Francisco with in-office requirements of 2 days per week. \nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nBuild and own the treasury function\nStand up Lightning AI's treasury operating model across the multi-entity group\nEstablish treasury policies, controls, signature authorities, and procedures from the ground up\nSelect and implement the treasury management system (TMS) and integrate it with NetSuite and the company's banking infrastructure\nDevelop the multi-year treasury roadmap, including process design, automation priorities, and FTE buildout\nCash management and banking\nOwn daily cash positioning, short-term liquidity forecasting, and intercompany cash movement across the entities\nOwn the 13-week operational cash forecast on a weekly cadence, and partner with FP&A on the 12-month and long-range cash forecast - providing the cash-conversion layer that translates the operating plan into liquidity outcomes\nManage banking relationships, account structure, and bank fee analysis; rationalize the post-merger banking footprint\nOversee the payment operations partnership with Accounts Payable, including wire and ACH controls and fraud prevention\nDebt, vendor financing, and covenant compliance\nManage existing debt facilities, vendor financing, and equipment financing across the group, including draw and repayment schedules, interest, and fees\nLead negotiation and execution of new vendor financing arrangements with hardware OEMs in support of GPU and data center capex\nBuild and operate the covenant compliance reporting cadence, including financial covenants, reporting covenants, and lender notification requirements\nPartner with Strategic Finance on debt structuring, refinancing, and new capital raises\nRisk management\nEstablish counterparty risk monitoring across banks, vendors, and lenders\nAssess and execute FX hedging where exposures arise - currently limited, expanding as the business scales\nCoordinate the insurance program with Legal and Operations\nInvestment and capital structure\nManage corporate cash investment policy and execution within board-approved guidelines\nSupport capital structure analysis and optimization in partnership with Strategic Finance\nProvide treasury input on operating model design and entity structure decisions\nAudit and cross-functional partnership\nPartner with the Technical Accounting team on the accounting treatment of treasury transactions - debt, vendor financing, derivatives, embedded features - providing the operational facts and documentation that support their technical conclusions\nSupport the first-year audit on treasury-related areas, including cash confirmations, debt and financing schedules, covenant compliance documentation, and counterparty letters\nCommunicate treasury matters clearly to non-treasury stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, Infrastructure Operations, and the executive team\nWHAT YOU'LL NEED\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CTP, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred\n8+ years of progressive treasury experience, with a mix of corporate treasury and ideally banking or capital markets exposure\nStrong command of corporate cash management, banking operations, and short-term liquidity forecasting\nHands-on experience managing debt facilities and vendor or equipment financing arrangements, including covenant compliance\nExperience selecting, implementing, or substantially upgrading a treasury management system\nTrack record of building treasury infrastructure - policies, controls, banking architecture, and reporting cadences - in a high-growth or post-merger environment\nComfort with capex-heavy, capital-intensive business models, and a working understanding of how vendor financing, equipment financing, and asset-backed structures operate in practice\nStrong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation quality\nExcellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to brief executives and translate treasury for non-treasury audiences\nTrack record of cross-functional partnership with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, banks, lenders, and external advisors\nBias toward building rather than maintaining; comfort operating in a fast-paced, foundation-building environment\nParticularly strong candidates will bring:\nPrior treasury experience at a high-growth AI, cloud, infrastructure, or other capex-intensive technology company\nDirect experience negotiating vendor financing with hardware OEMs\nExperience supporting a first-year audit or significant treasury remediation\nMulti-entity treasury experience, including post-merger cash and banking integration\nWorking knowledge of derivatives and hedge accounting concepts at an operational level - technical accounting is handled by the Corporate Accounting team\nWe are committed to offering competitive compensation that reflects the value each team member brings to our mission.
