This role supports Lightspeed’s employee and office connectivity-not the networks operated by our merchant customers. You will manage and improve our LAN/WAN connectivity, Fortinet infrastructure, enterprise Wi-Fi, site-to-site VPNs, ISP services, and physical network environments.\nThis is an AI-first network operations role. You will work closely with our EMEA network counterpart to apply agentic AI and automation to network operations moving the team toward earlier detection, faster investigation, and prevention of service issues, while reducing repetitive manual work.\nPlease note that we are only accepting candidates located in Montreal.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nNetwork Operations & Reliability\nAdminister, configure, and troubleshoot global Fortinet network environments, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.\n\nMaintain and optimize enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless networks, VPNs, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, and ISP connectivity across global offices.\n\nServe as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex network issues, leading incident triage, root-cause analysis, and implementation of long-term corrective actions.\n\nSupport network reliability initiatives, including redundant connectivity, dual-ISP failover, VPN resiliency, and centralized network management.\n\nExecute network changes and upgrades following established change management procedures, including testing, maintenance windows, validation, and rollback planning.\n\nAI-Driven Automation & Proactive Operations\nPartner with global network teams to identify and implement AI-driven and automation solutions that improve network operations, reliability, and efficiency.\n\nDevelop and deploy AI-enabled workflows, scripts, and API integrations for network monitoring, configuration management, log analysis, incident investigation, and troubleshooting.\n\nLeverage network telemetry, monitoring platforms (including PRTG), and Fortinet management tools to improve anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, and proactive issue resolution.\n\nEvaluate automation initiatives and measure improvements in incident detection, resolution times, network reliability, and operational efficiency.\n\nWireless Infrastructure & Global Site Delivery\nDesign, deploy, and optimize enterprise Wi-Fi 6/6E infrastructure across global office locations, including RF surveys, heat mapping, capacity planning, and performance tuning.\n\nTroubleshoot and optimize wireless connectivity, roaming, and certificate-based (802.1X) authentication to ensure reliable, high-performance network access.\n\nLead network infrastructure delivery across North America and APAC for office moves, expansions, and refresh projects, including hardware procurement, cabling, rack specifications, ISP coordination, and equipment commissioning.\n\nCoordinate with Facilities teams, contractors, and service providers on network installations, circuit deliveries, infrastructure upgrades, and site cutovers.\n\nSupport physical infrastructure deployments, including network hardware, rack and cable management, UPS systems, and out-of-band management.\n\nDocumentation & Operational Excellence\nMaintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, port mappings, ISP inventories, and operational runbooks.\n\nDevelop standardized deployment templates, automation playbooks, and procedures to streamline network installations, firmware upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.\n\nCollaborate with global IT and cross-functional teams to share technical knowledge, improve operational processes, and support Service Desk troubleshooting capabilities.\n\nWhat you need to bring:\n5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise office networks across a multi-site global environment.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency managing Fortinet infrastructure (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager).\n\nStrong enterprise Wi-Fi experience, including RF planning or surveys and certificate-based wireless authentication.\n\nStrong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF routing, DNS/DHCP, IPsec VPNs, STP/BPDU protection, and QoS.\n\nAn AI-first approach to problem-solving: curiosity about applying AI and automation to network work, sound judgment in validating outputs, and an understanding that AI recommendations must be checked before operational use.\n\nEnterprise experience in network authentication using PKI and digital certificates, including 802.1X/EAP-TLS, RADIUS, root and intermediate Certificate Authorities, certificate lifecycle management, and integration with identity services.\n\nExperience with SD-WAN, hub-and-spoke network design, redundant tunnels, dual-ISP failover, or out-of-band management.\n\nExperience working directly with carriers, hardware resellers, and third-party managed service providers (MSPs).\n\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex issues logically, perform RCA, and document clear technical playbooks.\n\nProven hands-on experience deploying and administering Fortinet network solutions (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager), alongside a solid understanding of broader multi-vendor networking technologies.\n\nHands-on experience working alongside Project Managers and cross-functional partners to drive network implementations, office expansions, and infrastructure upgrades from design to cutover.\n\nNice to have:\nExperience delivering an AI or agentic-AI project end to end.
