Work in conjunction with the Maintenance and Engineering departments.\nResponsibility\nWork with automation technicians, set up and maintenance department to reduce costs by removing non-value-added material/movement from production lines. \nAssist automation technicians, program managers and project engineers at the APQP stage of a program start-up. \nUnderstand and execute assigned work efficiently to minimize machine downtime. \nEnsure automation projects are completed and continue to function efficiently and effectively. \nMaintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles. \nEnsure all new /rebuild equipment complies with CSA, OSHA, and Electrical Safety Code requirements. \nParticipate in PHSR requirements \nParticipate in root cause analysis to identify and address failures. \nPerform scheduled backups of PLC and CNC programs. \nAcademic/Educational Requirements\nEnrolled or completed a program in electrical or mechanical technology. \nElectronics Technician/Technologist Certificate, or equivalent working experience considered an asset. \nRequired Skills/Experience\nMinimum requirement of one year in a manufacturing environment as an asset. Experience in CNC and robotic repair/programming. \nUnderstanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. \nAbility to work independently and within a team-based environment. \nKnowledge of PLC programming including Allan Bradley, ControlLogix/RS Logix, Siemens S7, and Fanuc. Knowledge of robotic systems (ABB, Motoman, KUKA and Fanuc). Basic knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet connections, TCP/IP protocol. Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and AutoCAD. \nContinuous learning to maintain a current knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry standards.
