Primarily accountable for performing workstation and server administration set up while coordinating disk space planning and management. In addition, maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, software and hardware inventories. Perform data backups and recoveries and maintain tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories.\nPowering Vehicles, Motion, Work, and Lives since 1966.\nPerformance Expectations \nComplete assignments from the Service Desk efficiently and effectively within assigned priority to meet SLA.\nTroubleshoot and solve office desktop problems.\nAct as the “face of IT” at designated facility and route issues.\nPrepare regular and special reports and analyze within prescribed guidelines.\nContact customers, suppliers, or organization employees outside the immediate work area to exchange information.\nInform Corporate IT management of any issues concerning requests to perform tasks outside of this job description.\nPurchase software and hardware for designated facility according to standards and IT purchasing procedures.\nEnsure licensed software is used in facility and the information is maintained in the licensing database.\nSetup and install all network attached equipment at facility.\nMaintain software and hardware on desktops at facility including Office Automation software, Anti-Virus, PC management software as per Desktop Setup Checklist.\nSupport unique systems such as local MRP/ERP, PM system, Time and Attendance System, QA equipment, door controllers, buzzers, and other software or hardware.\nAdminister local phone system (including paging, voice mail, moves-adds-changes).\nPrepare, monitor and adjust work schedules and evaluate data on user support services provided.\nAbility to evaluate information technology needs and users' software needs.\nCredentials\nPost-Secondary Education in Computer Science is preferred.\nCurrent MCP considered an asset.\nITIL and ITSM knowledge is preferred.\nKnowledge of Windows Desktop OS, Microsoft Office, Dell Desktop and Notebook hardware and Networking basics.\nWorking knowledge of data communications troubleshooting.\nAbility to read and understand equipment, policy and procedure manuals.\nDesired Characteristics\nPossess excellent comprehension and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently and coordinate efforts with co-workers.\nAbility to continuously learn and update technical knowledge.\nWhat Linamar Has To Offer\nOpportunities for career advancement. \nCommunity based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities. \nSocial committees and sports teams. \nDiscounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts. \nAbout Us\nLinamar Corporation is a Canadian diversified global manufacturing company of highly engineered products across global industries & markets.
