{"id":546789,"url":"https://alion.io/job/lincoln-machinery-chief-building-engineer","title":"Chief Building Engineer","company":{"id":258430,"name":"Lincoln Machinery","domain":"lincoln.com.sg","url":"https://alion.io/company/lincoln-2","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Greenhouse","truth_index":null},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"head","employment_type":"contractor","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Frisco, United States","Dallas, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":62000,"max_usd":148000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":175},"experience_years_min":10,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Office","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-08-31T19:26:04Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-08-31","last_verified_at":"2026-11-03T22:51:13Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":64,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":64},"description":"The Chief Engineer leads the Engineering team and oversees all building maintenance, repair, and operations to ensure a high level of tenant satisfaction, safety, and building efficiency.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nManage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.\nMonitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.\nOversee contractor work and manage tenant improvement projects.\nPrepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.\nSupervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop and implement performance goals and staff development plans.\nCollaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations and address tenant issues.\nAs assigned, work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee compliance with contract terms and quality control.\nConduct thorough inspections to ensure systems are operating efficiently; maintain detailed documentation and service logs for building equipment; maintain compliance logs.\nFollow company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE; enforce compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations; manage safety protocols, including the lockout/tagout program; report safety hazards; participate in safety inspections; ensure all staff members follow safety protocols and comply with building codes and regulations; oversee safety training.\nCommunicate verbally and in writing with teammates, leadership team, vendors, tenants, and client employees in a professional manner, keeping the appropriate customer(s) informed/updated as needed.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nHS Diploma or GED required\nAt least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience\nAt least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience including developing and delivering performance appraisals and disciplinary action\nCFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; possess engineering and trade licenses required according to local, state, or national requirements\nIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, energy management software systems, CMMS, and other building operational platforms\nAbility to travel daily to assigned properties as necessary\nAbility to demonstrate advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems\nStrong troubleshooting, capital budgeting, and energy management skills/practices\nStrong contract administration and project management skills\nFamiliar with fire/life safety equipment/procedures\nProven track record of delivering excellent internal and external customer service; ability to successfully interact/communicate with tenants/vendors/contractors as well as teammates and leadership team\nFamiliarity with blueprints and code requirements\nAbility to act as the primary point of contact/first responder for building emergencies, ensuring the proper amount of coverage; ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations as necessary to meet the needs of the client\nPossess competent knowledge of use and care of tools\nAbility to read and write English in order to understand manuals and procedures, and to write reports.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
