This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial reporting while providing leadership and oversight of accounting functions across multiple business locations.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role that oversees the day-to-day accounting cycle while also establishing standardized accounting practices, internal controls, reporting processes, and financial procedures across other locations. The Regional Controller is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, budgeting support, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance.\nThe Regional Controller partners closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, and accounting personnel at each location to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and consistent. This position provides financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making, operational performance, profitability, and the Company's long-term growth.\nThe ideal candidate is a strong accounting leader who is comfortable operating in a multi-entity environment, managing competing priorities, developing accounting staff, and creating scalable financial processes.\nGeneralResponsibilities\nAccounting Leadership & Multi-Location Oversight\nProvide leadership and oversight of accounting operations across the Company's locations and affiliated entities.\nOversee and coordinate accounting personnel responsible for local or entity-level accounting functions.\nEstablish consistent accounting processes, procedures, controls, and reporting standards across all locations.\nEnsure accounting teams are appropriately trained and following established accounting policies and procedures.\nProvide guidance, coaching, and support to accounting personnel at each location.\nIdentify opportunities to centralize, standardize, automate, or improve accounting processes.\nPromote collaboration and effective communication among accounting personnel and business leaders across all entities.\nEnsure consistency in financial reporting while recognizing the operational needs and differences of individual locations.\n General Accounting & Financial OperationsLead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, payroll support, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.\nOversee accounting activities performed at individual locations to ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.\nReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting transactions as appropriate.\nEnsure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger across all entities.\nMonitor the accounting cycle to ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate accounting period.\nResearch and resolve complex accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.\nMaintain appropriate supporting documentation for significant accounting transactions.\nEnsure accounting activities are completed in accordance with Company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\nMonth-End, Quarter-End & Year-End CloseLead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple entities.\nCoordinate month-end close responsibilities among accounting personnel across locations.\nReview completion of account reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.\nReview accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, fixed assets, and other adjusting entries.\nEnsure all locations complete assigned close responsibilities within established deadlines.\nIdentify and resolve accounting issues that could delay or impact the financial close.\nReview entity-level financial results prior to consolidation and executive reporting.\nSupport the preparation of consolidated financial reporting where applicable.\nLead year-end accounting activities and coordinate required information for external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors.\nFinancial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.\nEnsure financial reporting is timely, accurate, and consistent across all locations and entities.\nReview entity-level financial performance and identify significant trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.\nPrepare consolidated financial reporting and supporting schedules as required.\nDevelop and maintain standardized financial reporting packages for leadership and management.\nProvide meaningful financial analysis to executive and operational leadership.\nAnalyze actual results compared to budget, forecast, prior periods, and operational expectations.\nAssist leadership in understanding the financial drivers of profitability and operational performance.\nIdentify unusual financial trends or performance concerns and communicate findings to leadership.\nBudgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Financial Support\nLead or support the annual budgeting and financial forecasting process across multiple locations.\nCoordinate the collection and review of financial information from individual entities and departments.\nMonitor budget performance and provide regular variance analysis.\nPartner with operational leaders to evaluate financial performance and future projections.\nSupport strategic planning by providing financial analysis, modeling, and recommendations.\nAssist leadership with evaluating business opportunities, capital expenditures, growth initiatives, and operational investments.\nDevelop financial models and reporting tools that support informed decision-making.\nProvide financial insight regarding pricing, profitability, margins, and business performance.\nInternal Controls, Policies & Process ImprovementEnsure internal controls are consistently followed across locations.\nIdentify control weaknesses, financial risks, and opportunities for process improvement.\nImplement corrective actions and process improvements when needed.\nMaintain appropriate separation of duties and financial approval processes.\nDevelop standardized accounting workflows that support consistency and scalability.\nImprove accounting systems and reporting processes through automation and technology.\nDocument accounting procedures and ensuring knowledge is appropriately shared among accounting personnel.\nCash Flow & Working Capital ManagementMonitor Company and entity-level cash flow and working capital needs.\nReview cash balances and anticipated cash requirements.\nMonitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable trends.\nSupport leadership in managing collections, vendor obligations, and working capital.\nMonitor credit card reconciliations and other cash-related accounting activities.\nProvide recommendations to optimize cash flow and financial resources.\nAssist with cash forecasting and liquidity planning.\nCompliance, Tax & Audit SupportEnsure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and Company policies.\nOversee sales and use tax reporting and other applicable tax-related accounting activities.\nOversee workers' compensation reporting, insurance audits, and other financial compliance activities.\nEnsure appropriate accounting documentation is maintained to support tax filings and regulatory reporting.\nCoordinate and support external audits, reviews, and other financial examinations.\nPrepare and organize schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for external accountants and auditors.\nMonitor compliance requirements across all locations and ensure required financial reporting is completed timely.\nLeadership & Business PartnershipServe as a strategic financial partner to executive and operational leadership.\nProvide financial insight and recommendations that support business objectives and long-term growth.\nPartner with department leaders to support operational initiatives, project costing, commissions, pricing, and financial planning.\nParticipate as an active member of the leadership team.\nCommunicate financial information clearly and effectively to leaders who may not have an accounting background.\nSupport leadership in evaluating operational and financial performance.\nServe as a trusted advisor on financial controls, accounting processes, and financial decision-making.\nPerform additional financial, operational, and administrative duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.\nCPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.\nExperienceMinimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of accounting leadership, supervisory, or management experience.\nExperience overseeing the full accounting cycle and month-end close process.\nExperience preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis.\nExperience managing accounting operations across multiple locations, business units, or legal entities strongly preferred.\nExperience reviewing or supporting consolidated financial reporting preferred.\nExperience developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nExperience supporting external audits and working with outside accountants and tax advisors.\nPrevious experience in construction, landscaping, manufacturing, private equity, or other project-based or multi-entity industries is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAccounting & Financial Expertise\nThorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\nStrong understanding of the complete accounting cycle and financial close process.\nStrong understanding of multi-entity accounting and entity-level financial reporting.\nExperience with
