During the summer, interns will be paired with a mentor, attend professional career development workshops/sessions and attend networking events to meet additional team members.\nPosition Purpose:\nGain real Environmental, Health and Safety experience analyzing data to reduce injuries, reduce risk and maintain compliance. Upon completion of this assignment, you will have experience working in a Consumer Goods Manufacturing facility assessing risk and understanding the hazards that are present in our industry. You will gain practical experience leading a safety improvement team, participating in the Safety Committee, and updating safety SOP’s and systems.\nEssential Job Functions & Responsibilities\nReview and revise written environment/safety programs and procedures \nPerform relevant inspections and audits \nRespond to EHS related incidents and participate in incident investigation \nIdentify and correct safety and health deficiencies \nUpdate chemical and hazardous materials inventory \nParticipate in the Safety Committee/Environment teams and conduct a training for the committee on a special topic \nLead an improvement initiative using the Risk Reduction or Accident Reduction Route \nLead initiatives related to Environment/Sustainability improvements \nQualifications & Requirements:\nExperience:\nDemonstrated proficiency with a computer and with MS software \nPrevious experience implementing safety standards preferred \nExperience leading lean manufacturing improvement initiatives preferred \nSkills & Knowledge:\nFunctional knowledge of manufacturing operations, and process flow. \nKnowledge of basic safety standards and how to determine compliance \nProficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint \nMust have solid written and verbal communication skills. \nEducation:\nPersing a degree in Environments, Health and Safety Sciences \nTotal Rewards\nCompensation: $20 an hour\nApplicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company will not sponsor applicants for this position for work visas.\nLindt USA’s salary range reflects market rates based on our size, revenue, and location. Starting pay is determined using a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience as well as market conditions.
