Are you looking to develop your engineering career with a global business? Whether you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer or someone with a maintenance background looking to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.

At Lineage, we're committed to developing our people and are happy to consider candidates from a wide range of maintenance environments and industries. If you have a recognised electrical qualification and a passion for problem-solving, we'll support you in building your skills and experience within our operation.

Shift Available: Monday to Friday, alternating from 6am-2pm and 2pm-22pm

Salary: Competitive

About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping our site running smoothly by carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance on a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment.

You'll work alongside an experienced maintenance team who will support your development while helping you gain exposure to a broad range of equipment and systems.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and faults, helping to identify and resolve issues safely and efficiently.

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

  • Working on a variety of site equipment, including conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, and plant utilities.

  • Supporting the maintenance and monitoring of our coldstore equipment to ensure operational performance.

  • Collaborating with colleagues across the operation to troubleshoot problems and keep the facility moving.

  • Contributing ideas to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance processes.

  • Recording maintenance activities and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

You'll spend some time working in our temperature-controlled environment at approximately -18°C, but we'll provide all the specialist PPE needed to keep you comfortable and safe.

There will also be occasions where you'll work at height using ladders and access equipment.

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from people who have a maintenance background and a willingness to learn, even if you don't meet every requirement below.

Essential

  • A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, or equivalent).

  • A genuine interest in maintenance engineering and fault finding.

  • Good practical problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new equipment and systems.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role.

  • Experience of working within manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, food production, FMCG, facilities maintenance, automotive, distribution, or other maintenance environments.

  • Mechanical maintenance knowledge.

  • Experience with refrigeration, conveyors, cranes, automated systems, or mobile racking.

  • Knowledge of health and safety practices within an operational environment.

Don't let a lack of direct industry experience put you off applying. If you have a maintenance background, relevant qualifications, and a positive attitude, we'd be happy to hear from you.

What's in it for me?

  • A competitive starting pay rate

  • The opportunity to earn an additional day of annual leave each year, up to the maximum of one extra week for length of service.

  • Free onsite car park

  • Social environment with a team who like to support each other to achieve goals, with recognition schemes and shared spaces to enjoy lunch and rest breaks together

  • Support your emotional well-being with access to a 24/7 employee assistance phone line offering confidential free counselling and advice

  • Preferential rates for loans and savings offered through exclusive access to a credit union
