This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on engineering position combined with leadership responsibilities and wants to make a meaningful impact within a global organisation.\nShift Available: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm\nSalary: Competitive\nAbout the Role\nAs a Lead Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our site equipment and infrastructure.\nYou'll work closely with the Maintenance Manager and engineering team, providing technical guidance, coordinating engineering activities, and supporting both reactive and preventative maintenance programmes. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example while helping develop engineering standards and best practices across the site.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nSupporting the day-to-day coordination of maintenance activities across the site.\nProviding technical guidance and mentoring to Maintenance Engineers and apprentices.\nCarrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.\nResponding to equipment breakdowns and leading fault-finding activities to identify and resolve issues safely and efficiently.\nSupporting the maintenance of conveyors, refrigeration systems, cranes, mobile racking systems, and site utilities.\nAssisting with root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions.\nMonitoring engineering performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.\nEnsuring all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures.\nSupporting contractor management and overseeing engineering work carried out by third parties.\nMaintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring work orders are completed within agreed timescales.\nWorking closely with Operations teams to minimise disruption and maintain operational performance.\nPromoting a strong health and safety culture across the engineering function.\nYou'll spend some time working within our temperature-controlled environment at approximately -18°C, but we'll provide all the specialist PPE needed to keep you comfortable and safe.\nThere will also be occasions where you'll work at height using ladders and access equipment.\nWho We're Looking For\nWe're looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to support and develop others within a high-performing maintenance team.\nEssential\nA recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, or equivalent).\nPrevious experience in a maintenance engineering role within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, FMCG, food production, or a similar operational environment.\nStrong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.\nExperience carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.\nAbility to prioritise workloads and coordinate engineering activities effectively.\nGood understanding of health and safety requirements within an operational environment.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.\nProactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.\nDesirable (But Not Essential)\nPrevious experience in a Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Engineering Supervisor role.\nMechanical maintenance knowledge and experience.\nExperience working within a temperature-controlled or cold storage environment.\nExperience with refrigeration systems, conveyors, cranes, automated systems, or mobile racking.\nKnowledge of CMMS or maintenance management systems.\nExperience supporting apprentices or mentoring junior engineers.\nIOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent health and safety qualification.\nWhat's in it for me?\nThe opportunity to earn an additional day of annual leave each year, up to the maximum of one extra week for length of service.\nFree onsite car park\nSocial environment with a team who like to support each other to achieve goals, with recognition schemes and shared spaces to enjoy lunch and rest breaks together\nSupport your emotional well-being with access to a 24/7 employee assistance phone line offering confidential free counselling and advice\nPreferential rates for loans and savings offered through exclusive access to a credit union\nReference: INDUK\nWhy Lineage?\nWe are a global company with more than 22,000 employees spanning 20 countries and more than 400 locations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America.\nAt Lineage Logistics, we have a shared purpose; we are transforming the food supply chain to eliminate waste and help feed the world.
