Reporting to the Group CIO, the role provides visibility across all IT change initiatives, ensuring consistent governance, clear accountability, effective reporting and strong control of scope, budget, risks, resources and delivery outcomes. The PMO establishes the portfolio framework and standards, while project and programme leaders remain accountable for delivery.\nThe Opportunity\nPortfolio & Governance\nLead and manage the PMO function and project governance framework.\nMaintain oversight of the portfolio of programmes and projects.\nEstablish governance standards, methodologies, templates and reporting processes.\nEnsure projects have clear scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, risks and ownership.\nSupport portfolio prioritisation based on business value, risk, resource availability and strategic objectives.\nMonitor project performance and ensure appropriate escalation of risks and issues.\nDelivery Oversight\nProvide independent oversight and challenge to support successful project delivery.\nMonitor programme and project health, resource requirements and dependencies.\nEnsure appropriate controls are in place for scope, budget and change management.\nSupport the development of recovery plans for projects requiring intervention.\nOversee project closure activities, including lessons learned and benefits tracking.\nFinancial & Resource Management\nMaintain visibility of project budgets, forecasts and expenditure.\nSupport effective resource planning and capacity management.\nWork with stakeholders to resolve competing priorities and resource constraints.\nEnsure governance processes are followed for significant investment decisions.\nStakeholder Management & Reporting\nProduce clear and concise portfolio reporting for senior leadership.\nPresent portfolio performance, risks and delivery status to governance forums.\nBuild effective relationships with business leaders, project teams, vendors and external partners.\nAct as a trusted advisor on project governance and delivery best practice.\nLeadership\nLead, develop and support PMO, project and programme management teams.\nDrive consistency in project delivery standards and ways of working.\nPromote continuous improvement and PMO maturity across the organisation.\nFoster a collaborative, delivery-focused culture.\nSkills & Experience\nSignificant experience within PMO, portfolio management, programme management or technology/business transformation environments.\nProven experience managing project governance and portfolio processes.\nStrong understanding of project delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches.\nExperience of portfolio planning, prioritisation, budgeting and resource management.\nStrong stakeholder management and influencing skills.\nExperience presenting information to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.\nExcellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.\nRelevant project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, PgMP) desirable.\nPersonal Attributes\nStrategic thinker with strong commercial awareness.\nDelivery-focused and results-oriented.\nPragmatic and solutions-driven.\nConfident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.\nIndependent and objective in decision making.\nStrong leadership and coaching capability.\nCollaborative and people-focused.\nMeasures of Success\nEffective governance across the project portfolio.\nImproved visibility of project performance, risks and resource requirements.\nConsistent project delivery standards and reporting.\nImproved delivery predictability and stakeholder confidence.\nEffective prioritisation and utilisation of resources.\nContinuous improvement in PMO capability and maturity.\nAbout us\nLinesight is a highly successful global project and cost management consultancy that keeps clients coming back.
