Project Description:
HSBC Surveillance GCP Foundation (UT / MARS)
The project focuses on building and validating a Google Cloud-based data platform for HSBC Surveillance. The initial scope covers the Unauthorised Trading (UT) use case and one selected Market Abuse scenario, with the goal of establishing reusable architecture and data patterns for future adoption. The team will design and implement Bronze, Silver and Gold data layers, build ingestion and transformation pipelines for selected surveillance data feeds, define common data elements, enrichments and data quality controls, and prepare analysis-ready datasets for downstream surveillance use cases. The project also includes an assessment of how selected Java-based MARS components could be migrated and hosted on GCP using Kubernetes (GKE). The primary focus is data platform engineering, cloud architecture and migration feasibility rather than production implementation. Full production migration, full surveillance platform replacement and model productionisation are explicitly out of scope.
Technology stack:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Dataflow / Apache Beam, Python, SQL, Java, Kubernetes (GKE), Terraform / CI/CD tooling
