Cloud/DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud & DevOps Engineer to join a global technical initiative focused on migrating and hosting mission-critical Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) on modern Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the infrastructure deployment, container orchestration, and continuous delivery pipelines for a core enterprise Java application provided by a major third-party software vendor. Your primary impact will be driving platform automation, system reliability, and observability rather than writing business application code.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure & IaC: Provision, manage, and scale enterprise Azure cloud environments using Terraform or Pulumi, ensuring full alignment with strict security and compliance baselines.
• Kubernetes Orchestration: Deploy and manage application workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) utilizing Helm charts for seamless configuration management and release rollouts.
• CI/CD Automation: Design, optimize, and maintain automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and ArgoCD to support continuous delivery across global sites.
• Observability & Monitoring: Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and telemetry dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana to ensure high availability and operational visibility.
• System Integration & Tooling: Build and maintain infrastructure automation services (leveraging languages like Go, Python, or Bash), messaging workflows (RabbitMQ), and configuration management tools (Chef / Ansible).
• Migration & Escalation Support: Collaborate with cross-functional global teams during system migrations, upgrades, and real-time infrastructure troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications & Technical Experience

• Professional Background: Min. 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and DevOps methodologies.
• Primary Cloud Focus: Advanced hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, with deep familiarity in cloud-native services, networking, and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
• IaC & Automation: Proven proficiency in Terraform (or Pulumi) for Infrastructure-as-Code, along with Configuration Management tools (Chef or Ansible).
• Continuous Delivery: Demonstrated experience with GitOps and modern CI/CD tooling, particularly Jenkins and ArgoCD.
• OS & Scripting: Strong expertise in Linux-based environments and scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Go).
• Observability: Practical experience setting up metrics, logging, and dashboards via Prometheus & Grafana.

Desirable / Nice-to-Have

• Experience in regulated industries (Pharmaceutical, MedTech, or Biotech) or working with enterprise manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Exposure to distributed messaging systems (RabbitMQ) or specialized enterprise print services (CUPS).
