We do not have separate teams, and these activities are all part of the role.\nTasks:\nTranslate Group and Wholesale strategy into well-designed technical solutions, contributing to technical direction and ensuring delivery meets business needs for growth, management, and control.\nTake ownership of design and development across the full software lifecycle, producing high-quality, secure, and maintainable code in line with HSBC standards and engineering best practices.\nSupport delivery planning and execution within Agile and/or Waterfall teams, collaborating closely with developers, testers, analysts, and architects to deliver agreed outcomes.\nProactively identify and reduce technical debt, improving code quality, performance, resilience, and reusability; contribute to technical evolution and digital transformation initiatives.\nWork with business stakeholders, SMEs, and Solution Architects (locally and globally) to clarify requirements, shape solutions, and ensure alignment to target architecture.\nProvide hands-on guidance and informal mentoring to junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.\nContribute to DevOps ways of working, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational readiness to ensure smooth releases and stable production services.\nParticipate in support activities as required (e.g., incident investigation, problem management, root-cause analysis) and drive permanent fixes and preventative improvements.\n\n Requirements:\n6+ years’ experience in software development across both Waterfall and Agile delivery environments. Strong back-end development experience, including system integration and/or migration.\nFront-end development experience is a plus.\nKnowledge on DevOps, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), Agile control Framework.\nStrong working experience with Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs.
