You will help modernise data pipelines, build scalable data products, and support the transition towards a more reliable, accessible, and easy-to-consume data platform.\nAbout the role\nAs a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will work closely with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to design and deliver data and integration solutions. You will contribute to the technical roadmap, support modernization initiatives, and ensure that new solutions follow agreed architecture patterns and engineering standards.\nThe team’s goal is to make data more trusted, available, and useful for reporting, decision-making, and future digital applications.\nKey responsibilities\nContribute to the technical roadmap for data, reporting, and integration solutions.\nDesign, develop, implement, and maintain data solutions in a cloud-based environment.\nBuild and modernise data pipelines, APIs, and data products.\nSupport the migration from legacy systems to a modern GCP-based data architecture.\nWork with business-critical data flows used for client reporting.\nCollaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.\nEnsure alignment with target architecture, technical standards, and reusable engineering patterns.\nImprove reliability, scalability, and maintainability of data solutions.\nSupport DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code where relevant.\nRequirements\nSeveral years of experience in software development and/or data engineering.\nStrong hands-on experience with GCP or similar cloud platforms.\nVery good knowledge of Python, SQL, and BigQuery.\nExperience building scalable data solutions using tools such as:BigQuery\nDataform\nAirflow\nPub/Sub\nDocker\n\nUnderstanding of modern data architectures, including Data Warehouse and event-driven patterns.\nExperience with ETL/ELT processes and data modelling, e.g. dimensional modelling or Data Vault.\nExperience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, GitLab, and Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform.\nAbility to combine hands-on development with technical design and solution ownership.\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.\nAbility to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.\nNice to have\nExperience in reporting or client reporting environments.\nExperience modernising legacy data platforms.\nKnowledge of data governance, data quality, and platform observability.\nExperience working in large organisations or complex stakeholder environments.\nWho we are looking for\nWe are looking for a senior engineer who enjoys working close to both technology and business.
