The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.\nAbout the role\nLinkedIn is seeking a Staff Enterprise Engineer specializing in storage and backup solutions with a robust background in automation to contribute to our mission of revolutionizing data protection and storage architectures. In this capacity, you will oversee the architectural design, operational management, and reliability of enterprise-scale storage and backup systems across hybrid environments, including Microsoft Azure. This role requires technical leadership to drive operational excellence through automation and strategic engineering improvements. You will lead critical infrastructure programs and act as a primary technical escalation point for resolving performance and reliability issues to ensure the availability of our global services.\nResponsibilities\nAdminister, maintain, and optimize enterprise storage and backup platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.\nLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for storage, backup, recovery, and performance-related incidents.\nPlan and execute infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.\nDevelop automation and operational tooling using Python and PowerShell to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability.\nImplement and maintain monitoring, reporting, capacity planning, and performance management processes.\nDesign and support high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and data protection solutions.\nCollaborate with cloud, virtualization, network, security, and application teams on infrastructure projects and operational initiatives.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architectural standards.\nProvide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.\nParticipate in a global on-call rotation and support critical production incidents.\n Basic Qualifications\n8+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, or infrastructure platforms.\nExperience with enterprise storage and data protection technologies in production environments.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.\nProficiency in automation and scripting using Python and PowerShell.\nExperience supporting business-critical production environments and participating in on-call rotations.\nExperience with troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Pure Storage, NetApp, Nasuni, Rubrik, Azure Backup, or similar enterprise platforms.\nUnderstanding of SAN, NAS, object storage, snapshots, replication, disaster recovery, and data lifecycle management.\nKnowledge of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS, zoning, and multipathing.\nExperience supporting VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with capacity planning, performance optimization, operational reporting, and infrastructure monitoring.\nExperience leading cross-functional technical investigations and infrastructure initiatives.\nSuggested Skills\nStorage systems administration\nBackup and recovery operations\nPython and PowerShell scripting\nAzure infrastructure services\nIncident and problem management\n India Disability Policy\nLinkedIn is an equal employment opportunity employer offering opportunities to all job seekers, including individuals with disabilities.
