You'll spend your time designing and building backend services, developer-facing frameworks, shared libraries, SDKs, and core platform capabilities that other engineers build upon. While you'll work on foundational systems, this is not a DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure role. The primary focus is software design and development, not operating infrastructure, managing CI/CD pipelines, or administering Kubernetes clusters.\nWhat you'll do:\nArchitectural Evolution - Lead large-scale structural initiatives, such as optimizing our data layer and transitioning toward distributed, high-performance storage architectures.\n Core Frameworks & SDKs - Design and maintain internal libraries that standardize how our application interacts with critical infrastructure including messaging systems, databases, and workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Temporal).\nSystem Resiliency - Own the reliability and optimization of our asynchronous communication and streaming layers, ensuring seamless data flow across a complex microservices ecosystem.\nPerformance Engineering - Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks. You'll be the go-to person for making our systems faster, leaner, and more resilient under heavy load.\nDeveloper Experience - Build the \"golden paths\" for our backend engineers, creating abstractions that make complex infrastructure easy, safe, and robust to use.\nRequirements\nWhat you’ll bring:\n Strong Backend & Cloud Foundation - Extensive experience building production-grade backend systems in one or more modern programming languages (such as Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or Kotlin), with hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native applications on AWS.\nThe \"Infra\" Mindset - You thrive on building reusable components, internal tools, and solving deep-rooted technical challenges for other engineers.\nHigh-Scale Mastery - Experience in production environments where performance and reliability are non-negotiable.
