The role covers tendering, project engineering, resource coordination, and management of engineering interfaces throughout the project lifecycle. The Engineering Manager provides technical leadership for the delivery of primary, secondary, and civil/structural designs, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, statutory requirements, industry standards, and Linxon procedures.\nWhat will you do?\nKey Areas of Responsibility (KARs):\nReport and work in close coordination with the UK Engineering Manager for all the engineering activities allocated to his team of resources.\nAccountable for the timely and quality delivery of engineering designs for all EPC substation projects allocated to his engineering organization.\nProvide overall technical leadership, management, and development of a local engineering team covering Primary, Secondary, and Civil/Structural disciplines for large and complex EPC HV AIS and GIS substation projects.\nPlan and coordinate all engineering activities from tendering through to As-Built completion, ensuring full compliance with Project Specifications, Linxon standards, QA/QC requirements, HSSE expectations, and Integrity principles.\nRegularly monitor project performance in collaboration with Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Planning teams to ensure engineering priorities remain aligned with project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams within Linxon (local and remote), as well as external partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and engineering consultants.\nProvide technical guidance to engineers allocated to projects in case of technical discussions with customers and suppliers.\nDefine and manage engineering resource plans and budgets based on current project commitments and future business pipeline requirements.\nSet individual and team objectives, mentor engineers, and support technical skill development within the discipline groups.\nExperience Required:\nBachelor or Master’s in electrical engineering or equivalent.\nExtensive experience in HV substation engineering within EPC environment.\nProven track record in leading and managing engineering resources for large-scale EPC projects.\nStrong knowledge of AIS and GIS substation design, engineering delivery processes.\nDemonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholder interfaces in complex project environments.\nCompetencies/ Skills Required:\nResult orientated team player with a proactive approach.\nExcellent in communication, to interact with external and internal parties at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.\nExpert knowledge in Substation design and engineering: primary and secondary design, interface with civil discipline.\nKnowledge of system studies like load flow, short circuit calculation; Single Line Diagrams, CT/VT calculations, Auxiliary Power Systems, power cables.\nStrong in MS Office, knowledge in MicroStation and AutoCAD is required.\nFluency in English - both written and spoken.\nAvailability to travel 25 % of the time (domestic/international travel).\nWorking in an office, presence on a construction site when required.\nAbout Linxon\nShaping energy solutions to empower sustainable connectivity.\nWe combine Hitachi Energy’s deep technological knowledge and Atkins Realis’s project management expertise to create a company dedicated to substations - we are Linxon.
