Evaluates and manages financial performance and manages financial risks. Provides financial decision-support and advisory services to CEO Uganda and other departments\n\nBuy Maps\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nFinancial Strategy, Policies, Procedures and Internal controls \n\nFormulates Financial strategic action plans for Uganda aligned to the Group and ensures the implementation and compliance of LTU financial policies and procedures\n\nEnsures financial implementation and standardization of controls, systems policies and procedures for LTU\n\nFormulates performance standards in the department and ensures that financial strategic objectives are pursued and achieved\n\nFormulates the LTU supply chain strategy\n\nAnalyses monthly financial performance against established benchmarks set within the business plan framework for LTU\n\nPrepares financial feasibility and profitability studies; evaluates and approves financial dimensions of new projects, new products and main changes to processes\n\nAdministers and schedules all quarterly performance appraisals for the Finance department, establishment and agreement with staff on Key Result Areas and Key Performance Indicators\n\nEnsures that capital expenditure for LTU is correctly accounted for and is in line with accounting requirements for Property, Plant and Equipment\n\nOversees the disposal of Property, Plant and Equipment have been correctly accounted for and proceedsare banked\n\nEvaluates useful lives of assets and ensures they are regularly assessed and its impact on profitability is appropriately assessed and is aligned to the LTU guidelines\n\nFinancial Performance and Financial Risks management \n\nEnsures that the business achieves or surpasses its profitability targets by monitoring key expenditure areas and that profitability margins are in line with business plan\n\nManages the Cash flow ensures efficient debt collection and credit policy for LTU\n\nMeets key line managers weekly regarding their expenditure and carries out monthly variance checks and addresses them through line managers\n\nSecures and negotiates financing facilities with financial institutions\n\nManages the company’s capital expenditure budget\n\nResponsible for Capital investment appraisal and Business Case creation, analysis and evaluation for decision making\n\nReviews the daily and weekly status of airtime distributors to ensure that they do not exceed prescribed credit limits\n\nEnsures that the LTU complies with the laws and regulations of the country with respect to Uganda Communications Commission License fees, Customs & Import duty, Income and Corporate tax, filing of corporate returns and accurate record keeping\n\nResponsible for the tax management position of LTU\n\nPrepares and presents to financial analysts half year and annual financial results\n\nSupply and Logistics Management \n\nNegotiates prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders\n\nMonitors supplier’s performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements\n\nMeets with suppliers to discuss performance metrics to provide performance feedback or to discuss production forecasts or changes\n\nDevelops or implements procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers\n\nMaintains knowledge database of supplier’s markets, sub-categories, capabilities, technology, cost analysis and key performance indicators\n\nDevelops and fully implements long term supply agreements for key strategic high value items and services for the company\n\nSpearheads strategic relationships with suppliers and partners in clearing, forwarding and distribution\n\nReviews and improves the supply chain planning process\n\nStatutory Reporting, Financial support and Advisory services to CEO and other departments \n\nPrepares financial budgets and management reports thus ensures efficient budgetary control\n\nPrepares financial results and presents them to the CEO and board for approval\n\nPrepares monthly financial management results and presents them to the CEO and then to the executive committee\n\nPrepares LTU financial statements; including working with external auditors\n\nDirect involvement in strategic mapping for the entire organization by being a member of the Executive team\n\nEnsures tight controls in the up-keep of organizational information and physical security\n\nRecommends the training needs for employees within the Finance department\n\nEnsures that Quarterly performance appraisals are performed by all direct reports within the entire finance department\n\nKEY REQUIREMENTS \n\nDegree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, ctuarial Science or Related Discipline is essential.\n\nProfessional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA – Essential\n\nMBA or MBL will be an added advantage\n\nAt least 8 years in Finance, Corporate Finance or a related discipline experience, 4 years should be in Senior Management position\n\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AREAS \n\nKnowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS) are a prerequisite\n\nGood spreadsheet and financial modelling skills are a prerequisite\n\nHigh skills on computer literacy with proficiency on MS Office and business modelling tools\n\nKnowledge of pastel\n\nGood analytical, conceptual and diagnostic skills\n\nGood understanding of the different business functions and their interaction towards the achievement of the business objectives\n\nHigh degree of professional judgment and discretion\n\nACCOUNTABLE FOR \n\nAllocation of cash resources and prioritization of business requirements (Opex and Capex) in line with approved budget\n\nBudget, Forecasting and Financial Reporting\n\nDebtor Days\n\nInternal financial Controls\n\nFinance Teams Performance\n\nPLANNING \n\nContributes to short term and long term periodic strategic and management thinking as the partner to the business unit heads\n\nEnsures that LTU complies with the laws and regulations of the country with respect to Income and Corporate tax, filing of corporate returns and accurate record keeping\n\nAnalyses monthly financial performance against established benchmarks set within the business plan framework for the LTU\n\nThis Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
