This on-site role in Jessup, MD and will work closely with systems engineers, field support, mechanical, electrical, and software teammates to define verification strategies, develop test artifacts, execute verification campaigns, and produce objective evidence of requirement compliance. The Senior Verification Engineer will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and be a technical leader for verification activities across projects.\nEssential Responsibilities\nOwn end-to-end verification for assigned subsystems or systems: develop verification plans, map tests to requirements, and define acceptance criteria.\nCreate, document, and maintain test cases, test procedures, and test scripts for laboratory, production, integration, and field verification.\nExecute verification tests (manual and automated), collect and analyze data, and produce clear test reports and pass/fail summaries.\nDevelop and maintain test infrastructure: harnesses, fixtures, data acquisition, automation scripts, and simulation/testbenches as needed.\nCollaborate with Systems Engineering, design teams, and field support to ensure tests are realistic, repeatable, and cover critical failure modes.\nLead verification efforts for design changes (ECO/ECRs), regression campaigns, and qualification activities; verify corrective actions and validate fixes.\nSupport root cause analysis by designing targeted verification tests and providing technical evidence to isolate and close issues.\nEnsure traceability of verification artifacts to requirements and maintain verification status for project baselines.\nMentor junior verification and test engineers; promote verification best practices and drive improvements to test processes and tooling.\nParticipate in design and requirements reviews to influence testability and identify verification needs early in the lifecycle.\nKey Attributes\nStrong systems-thinking and the ability to translate requirements into practical, measurable verification activities.\nComfortable with hands-on laboratory and integration work while also developing automated test scripts and data-analysis tools.\nExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail; capable of producing concise, evidence-based verification reports.\nEffective communicator with the ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams and present verification status to stakeholders.\nProactive, organized, and able to prioritize verification tasks in support of project schedules.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.\n6+ years of engineering experience with a significant portion focused on verification, test engineering, or validation in electro-mechanical or embedded systems (maritime, robotics, aerospace, or similar industries preferred).\nProven experience developing verification plans, writing test procedures, and executing verification campaigns across hardware and software domains.\nHands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, data acquisition systems) and scripting languages/tools for automation and data analysis (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar).\nFamiliarity with requirements traceability, configuration control, and ECR/ECO processes.\nStrong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting root cause analyses across disciplines.\nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with systems, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.\nFamiliarity with the Liquid Robotics Wave Glider system is a plus.\nExceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\nU.S. Person status required.\nAbility to obtain a US Secret Clearance required.
