(GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Edison, NJ.\nResponsibilities\nThe Resident Engineer (RE) serves as the on-site representative of the project management team, responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring project compliance with design specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards. The RE plays a vital role in coordinating between contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies, ensuring successful delivery of engineering and construction projects.\nAct as the client’s on-site representative during construction.\nMonitor daily construction activities for quality assurance and compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards, including gathering detailed measurements.\nCoordinate with design engineers, construction contractors, inspectors, and program management staff.\nConduct regular site inspections and lead field meetings with stakeholders.\nReview and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and progress payments.\nMaintain accurate documentation including daily reports, logs, as-builts, photographs, Correspondence and Documentation of Contractor Performance\nIdentify and mitigate construction-related risks or delays; escalate critical issues when necessary.\nEnforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and project-specific requirements.\nParticipate in project meetings and prepare status reports for senior management and client stakeholders.\nEnsure environmental, permitting, and regulatory compliance on-site.\nContract Administration\nWork with the Project Manager and/or Billing team for invoicing and Payment Processing, while Monitoring Contract Cost and Schedule\nQualifications\nNJ Professional Engineer License Required.\nNJDOT experience required. \nMust have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.\nMinimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision, site engineering, or resident engineering.\nAbility to supervise staff.\nExperience working on highway, bridge and/or rail projects.\nThe Resident Engineer should possess a working knowledge of the following: shop drawing review, scheduling, permitting and inspection requirements.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to overall team success.\nExperience with large-scale or multi-site program management environments preferred.\nFamiliarity with project delivery methods (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, CM/GC, Design- Build).\nProficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).\nStrong knowledge of construction codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.\nExcellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.\nOur Culture:\nWe believe in the power of collaboration.
