The Senior Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects as project manager; the technical mentorship of local staff; supporting business development efforts; delivering consistent technical quality, successful project delivery, and client satisfaction.\nPlease read the description below of this opportunity in Newton as part of the Building Structures team. We look forward to creating a success path for LiRo-Hill and you!\nResponsibilities:\nPerform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structures in the markets and clients LiRo-Hill serves.\nServe as Project Manager on a variety of project types/sizes, overseeing project staffing, financial management, and client communications. \nLead site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies.\nSupervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services.\nOversee the construction administration phase of projects through the performance of site visits and provision of responses and solutions to issues.\nUtilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small rehabilitation projects to large scale new construction. \nSupport the mentorship, training, and development of junior engineering staff.\nSupport the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work.\nAttend meetings and site visits with clients as a representative of the firm.\nActively participate in local industry organizations and business development functions.\nSupport the development and improvement of the department’s technical standards.\nCoordinate staffing needs and project financial performance.\nQualifications\nBachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus\n7+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering \nMA PE required\nStrong mentorship skills\nAbility to manage projects, clients, and delegate tasks\nUnderstanding and application of code requirements\nExperience in using various structural analysis software\nStrong written and verbal communication skills \nAbility to multitask and consistently meet deadlines\nAutoCAD and Revit experience a plus\nOur Culture:\nWe believe in the power of collaboration.
