This position will be responsible for monitoring client network environments, responding to network and infrastructure alerts, performing first-level troubleshooting, and escalating more complex issues to senior network and security engineers.\nThe ideal candidate has a strong foundation in networking and is looking to develop deeper hands-on experience supporting firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and other critical infrastructure within an MSP environment.\nThe role will work closely with our NOC and SOC teams, providing proactive monitoring and first-level response to network and security-related events.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonitor client network environments and respond to alerts generated by network monitoring and management platforms.\nProvide Level 1 network troubleshooting and support for connectivity, performance, availability, and infrastructure issues.\nInvestigate alerts involving routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, WAN circuits, and other network infrastructure.\nPerform initial troubleshooting of network outages, packet loss, latency, interface errors, device availability, and connectivity issues.\nTroubleshoot common TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, switching, and VPN issues.\nMonitor infrastructure health and identify conditions requiring escalation or additional investigation.\nPerform initial triage of network and security alerts as part of the NOC/SOC operation.\nEscalate security-related events to appropriate SOC or security engineering resources based on established procedures.\nOpen, update, document, and manage incidents through the ticketing system.\nCoordinate with ISPs, carriers, vendors, and senior engineers when troubleshooting network-related incidents.\nAssist senior network engineers with firewall, switching, wireless, and network infrastructure projects.\nAssist with firmware upgrades, configuration changes, equipment replacements, and network deployments.\nMaintain accurate client network documentation, including device information, configurations, IP addressing, and topology information.\nSupport client environments remotely and onsite when required.\nParticipate in after-hours or rotating NOC coverage as required.\nRequired Qualifications\n1-3 years of IT support, NOC, network support, or related technical experience.\nStrong understanding of core networking concepts, including:TCP/IP\nDNS and DHCP\nVLANs\nSwitching and routing\nNAT\nVPNs\nFirewalls\nLAN/WAN connectivity\n\nFamiliarity with network monitoring and alerting concepts.\nAbility to perform structured troubleshooting and identify whether an issue is network, ISP, server, endpoint, or security related.\nBasic understanding of network and security logs.\nExperience working with technical ticketing systems and documenting troubleshooting activities.\nStrong communication and customer service skills.\nAbility to follow documented escalation and incident-response procedures.\nAbility to work from the Hicksville, NY office and provide onsite client support when required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in a NOC, SOC, MSP, or managed services environment.\nHands-on exposure to Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall, or similar networking technologies.\nExperience with network monitoring platforms such as Auvik, PRTG, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, or similar tools.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure networking, including VNets, VPN connectivity, and basic cloud networking concepts.\nFamiliarity with AWS networking is a plus.\nExposure to SIEM, endpoint security, or SOC monitoring platforms.\nBasic PowerShell, command-line, or network diagnostic experience.\nCompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or similar certifications are preferred but not required.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe are looking for someone with a strong interest in networking and cybersecurity who wants to build their career in a hands-on NOC/SOC environment.\nThe right candidate should be comfortable monitoring multiple client environments, investigating alerts, performing initial troubleshooting, documenting findings, and knowing when an issue needs to be escalated.
