Where You'll Work

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Ahmedabad with the expectations to be in office at least 3 days a week for collaboration and connection.

What You'll Deliver

• Ensure Litera's critical SaaS databases run at peak performance through expert-level PostgreSQL tuning, monitoring, and optimization - directly improving platform reliability for millions of users.

• Design and implement database schemas and data ingest strategies that scale with our growing product portfolio and customer base.

• Drive root cause analysis during major incidents and lead cross-functional resolution efforts, minimizing customer impact and strengthening system resilience.

• Implement advanced security standards - including row-level security and data encryption - to protect sensitive legal data and maintain compliance.

• Architect backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions that ensure business continuity and give stakeholders confidence in our platform.

• Automate routine database operations to reduce toil, increase reliability, and free up engineering capacity for higher-impact work.

• Review and improve database code across teams, mentoring engineers on best practices and elevating the quality of our data layer.

• Stay ahead of emerging database technologies and practices, bringing forward recommendations that keep Litera at the cutting edge.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in PostgreSQL (cloud and on-premises).

• Proven ability to write, debug, and optimize complex database queries and code.

• Strong experience with cloud database solutions and infrastructure.

• Solid understanding of database engine tuning, partitioning strategies, and physical schema design from logical models.

• A problem-solver who can reverse-engineer issues, simplify complexity, and communicate clearly under pressure.

• Comfort with on-call rotations and the ability to maintain composure during high-urgency production incidents.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with data modeling, master data management (MDM), or data dictionaries.

• Background working with SaaS products in highly regulated environments (SOX, HIPAA, PCI).

• Familiarity with software development practices and workflows.

• Knowledge of security and privacy compliance frameworks.
