This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is shaping the future of mobility.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nWe are looking for a Mid-Level Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of reliable, maintainable, and scalable backend services.\nYou will work primarily with Java and Quarkus/Jakarta EE in a modern development environment. Experience with Spring Boot is also highly relevant, particularly if you are comfortable transferring your knowledge to Quarkus\nThis is a hands-on development role where you will work closely with frontend developers and other engineers on backend services, APIs, integrations, testing, and application security.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using Java.\n\nDevelop solutions using Quarkus/Jakarta EE and related technologies.\n\nDesign and maintain REST APIs and integrations between systems.\n\nWork with databases and application persistence.\n\nImplement data mapping and use appropriate tooling to reduce repetitive boilerplate code.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, and testable Java code.\n\nCreate and maintain unit and integration tests.\n\nApply appropriate backend security practices.\n\nTroubleshoot technical issues and contribute to continuous improvements.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and technical discussions.\n\nWork with Git, containers, and CI/CD pipelines as part of the development lifecycle.\n\nCollaborate with frontend developers and other engineering stakeholders on API contracts and technical solutions.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nProfessional software development experience with Java at a solid mid-level.\n\nExperience with Quarkus, Jakarta EE, or Spring Boot.\n\nGood understanding of backend application architecture and development principles.\n\nPractical experience with persistence and database interaction.\n\nExperience with mapping and boilerplate-reduction tooling commonly used within the Java ecosystem.\n\nExperience writing unit and integration tests for backend applications.\n\nUnderstanding of application and API security principles.\n\nExperience designing and consuming REST APIs.\n\nComfortable working with Git.\n\nExperience with containers, such as Docker.\n\nUnderstanding of CI/CD fundamentals and modern software delivery practices.\n\nGood understanding of AI concepts and current AI technologies. You do not need to be an AI specialist, but you should be familiar with the topic and understand how AI is being applied in modern software development.\n\nGood communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a development team.\n\nWillingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected.
