The candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable navigating uncertainties and customer driven design requirements. The role requires an understanding of the protection legacy that Littelfuse has established and the ability to collaborate across the business to draw upon that strength. Join the team at Littelfuse that is developing new, self-contained smart components and systems that deliver protection and control functionality to electrical systems.\nAbout the Job:\nDevelop and qualify electrical designs for solid-state control and protection components and systems. Establish design details, including stress and tolerance analysis, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.\nServe as a technical leader and mentor to the broader development team. Establish technical excellence by example and through teaching of less experienced team members.\nEvaluate technical feasibility and select suitable suppliers for components and processes.\nLead testing of AC (single phase and three phase) and DC protection systems.\nEngage with contract manufacturers or in house manufacturing to implement design, prepare design documentation, and evaluate production processes to assure components meet performance, reliability and cost targets.\nSupport occasional travel as required to evaluate suppliers and support production ramp up.\nDevelop and execute protection system component and system qualification plans\nProvide regular project updates as part of the overall project planning and execution.\nAbout you:\nMS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering with equivalent experience.\n15+ years of hands-on experience designing analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal design.\nExpert knowledge of current sensing technologies, tradeoffs and practical implementation considerations in support of protection and metering requirements.\nProficiency in managing systems with embedded firmware or programmable logic, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.\nExperience with meeting best practices for component placement, including circuit card stack up design considerations.\nKnowledge of power electronics topologies, operation and design considerations.\nKnowledge of product compliance process, including testing and designing for EMC and product safety approvals.\nDemonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, willingness to experiment and be able to manage ambiguity.\nLittelfuse strives to empower associate growth and development in a culture of ongoing collaboration and respect for diverse global perspectives and expertise.\nOur Core Values - We Care, We Succeed With Our Customers, We Own The Outcome - support us in our mission to improve the safety, reliability, and performance of our customers’ products that use electrical energy.\nWe are an equal-opportunity employer that takes pride in giving every associate the means and courage to make a difference - everywhere, every day.\nAt Littelfuse, we support employee growth and development.
