Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice AI applications for OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, Coursera, Spotify, and thousands of others, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year.\nAbout You\nLiveKit's team is growing fast, in the US and around the world, and Finance is taking over payroll. You'll be the person who makes it run: every employee, every state, every country, every filing.\nMost senior payroll roles hand you a well-oiled machine and ask you not to break it. This one asks you to build it. You'll own US and international payroll, set up the calendar and controls, assist with month end close, and be the internal expert on anything that touches a paycheck.\nYou'll thrive as the Senior Payroll Specialist if you:\nare obsessive about tying out numbers to the penny\n\nare known as the go-to person for tackling tough problems\n\nwork hard and can build and ship fast\n\nare focused on polish, detail and quality\n\nare a fast learner, frequently picking up new tips, tricks, and skills\n\nThe best way to impress us is with thoughtful ways you'd implement LiveKit, and potentially tinkering with it\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Senior Payroll Specialist at LiveKit, you will:\nRun US and international payroll end to end, from collecting inputs to final reconciliation\n\nOwn all associated payroll tax filings, domestic and international, and keep us compliant and on time\n\nManage our PEO and EOR relationships, and know where their responsibility ends and yours begins\n\nReconcile payroll to the general ledger each cycle and support month-end close\n\nBuild and maintain our payroll calendar, processes, and documentation as payroll moves into Finance\n\nPartner with People/Talent and accounting on new hires, changes, terminations, and month-end reconciliation\n\nSupport equity administration in Carta and equity reporting for the board\n\nBe the go-to contact for payroll questions internally and for auditor requests externally\n\nWho You Are\nHands-on experience running both US and international payroll, including Canada and/or the EU\n\nExperience managing payroll tax filings directly, not just handing them off to a provider\n\nExperience with multi-state US payroll for a remote, distributed team\n\nStrong experience working within PEO and/or EOR structures\n\nFamiliarity with startup-focused platforms such as Rippling, Deel, Remote, or similar\n\nComfort working independently as the subject-matter expert, juggling many moving pieces and flagging tax, legal, and compliance risk before it becomes a problem\n\nNice to Have\nCPP, FPC, or a similar payroll certification\n\nExperience moving payroll in-house, switching providers, or migrating an HRIS\n\nExperience with equity administration in Carta\n\nExperience at a fast-growing company with a distributed, international team\n\nYou've personally caught a payroll error before anyone else did, and you still think about it fondly\n\nOur Commitment to You\nAn opportunity to build something truly impactful to the world\n\nContribute to open source alongside world-class engineers\n\nCompetitive salary and equity package\n\nHealth, dental, and vision benefits\n\nFlexible vacation policy\n\nLiveKit is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected by applicable law.
