Makes sales by (i) soliciting new prospects for customers and (ii) persuading regular customers to increase the amount of their purchases or to purchase new Company products. In conjunction with the route salesperson’s outside sales and solicitations, he/she will be expected to deliver/install products to/for customers along his/her route and/or within his/her territory.\nEssential Job Duties\nSolicit new and existing customers daily and promote and sell the Company’s products to customers.\nDevelop relationships with and provide service to existing customers that ensure customer retention and customer loyalty.\nIdentify potential new customers and solicit business from the same.\nBe familiar with the Company’s product literature and be able to convey product information and availability to customers to ensure the growth of both revenue and the number of customers along the route and/or within the territory.\nAttend regular sales training meetings to review sales performance and discuss sales goals and ways to improve sales performance.\nProvide exemplary customer service.\nOperate Company vehicle in a safe, courteous and responsible manner with a valid driver’s license.\nDeliver/Install products to/for Customers along the route and/or within the territory - Verify parts delivered/installed to/for customers and obtain the signature of the customer confirming accuracy compared to the work order.\nProtect company assets by diligently performing all duties in a safe manner, including safely handling products delivered and payments collected.\nOperate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.\nComply with established company policies and procedures.\nManage daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.\nTake responsibility for your safety and watch out for the safety of others. Use safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhere to all safe work practices and policies.\nAssumes other duties as assigned.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNot responsible for supervising employees.\nMinimum Requirements\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School Diploma/GED\nPrevious sales-related experience.\nSix+ months driving/delivery experience.\nMust qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.\nValid Drivers License.\nPreferredRequirements\n2+ years of sales experience.\nSome business-related college coursework.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nBasic computer skills.\nRegularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.\nProblems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.\nDecisions generally affect one's own job or assigned functional area.\nResults are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.\nHandle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.\nEssential Physical Demands/Work Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a vehicle most of the time.\nMust be able to sit and drive for extended periods (up to 12 hours at a time); use hands to operate machinery.\nMay need to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.\nFrequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust.
