This position assists in wiring systems up to 13,000 volts.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nParticipates in the installation, maintenance, diagnosing and repair of low, medium, and high voltage wiring systems and motors, generators, circuit breakers, light switches, and other various equipment.\nApplies principles and practices that ensures all electrical components meet safety codes and standards, including National Electric Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines.\nPerforms electrical work as related to air conditioning, refrigerant systems, chillers, boilers, lights, variable frequency drives, and motor controllers.\nPerforms preventive and predictive maintenance and maintains tools, parts, equipment and materials requirements and inventory for assigned projects. \nPerforms basic mathematical calculations.\nMaintains electrical records by documenting all work performed on equipment.\nTroubleshoots electrical problems such as short circuits or faulty wiring in light fixtures or power outlets, tracing electrical problems to their source using meters and other diagnostic equipment completing the repair work.\nReads and interprets blueprints, schematics, plans, and manufacturers’ specifications.\nOperates man lift, bucket truck, and all associated electrical maintenance equipment.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNo direct supervisory responsibilities.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nA valid driver license. \nDetail oriented, reliable and self-motivated.\nHave a relevant South Dakota state license.\nExcellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.\nKnow OSHA safety guidelines and practices.\nPatience when teaching apprentices.\nBe able to meet the physical requirements of the job including: Working in confined spaces, heavy physical work; heavy lifting, laying wire, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to or in excess of 75 pounds.\nAble to work safely from various heights off ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and other safe work platforms and areas.\nReliable and consistent attendance.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or GED certificate.\nOne year’s experience assisting in electrical work including installation, maintenance, diagnosing, and repair of various electrical systems.\nState of South Dakota Apprentice Electrician’s License\nCOMPANY VALUES\nDo the Right Thing.
