We underpin the lives of millions of individuals and businesses and play a key role in helping to build a growing UK economy.\nYou'll join us in Central Finance - Control & Reporting a team of c200 colleagues within the Finance Division, providing centralised support and expertise to the rest of Finance and the Business. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract supporting the CB Financial Control team in Group Finance Support responsible for the financial control activity, reconciliation and basis of substantiation of data on a monthly basis.\nIn this role you’ll:\nPrepare and post finance journals.\nPerform balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation activities.\nProduce reporting and analysis to support month-end and daily finance processes.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual effort within reporting and reconciliation processes.\nDevelop and maintain Power Query and Excel-based automation solutions.\nUse macros and automation tools to streamline journal preparation and approval workflows.\nSupport data enrichment and process improvement initiatives.\nInvestigate and resolve finance data and reporting issues.\nDeliver control checks to ensure processes remain accurate and appropriately controlled.\nSupport change initiatives, including implementation of new finance processes and corrective journal activity\nCarry out maintenance & documentation of key EUDAs and end-user databases that support the Term Deposits control environment.\nSupport monthly flash and final reporting by analysing balance sheet, P&L and average balance movements and providing commentary on significant variances.\nWork closely with Ledger Control, FDAO, Prism, Finance Platforms and Business teams to ensure source system data is accurately transferred, reported and controlled. \nWhy join us?\nWe’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good.
