From financial reporting and cost accounting to budgeting, audits, capital planning, and process improvement, you'll play an important role in helping L&M continue to grow.\nFor someone interested in taking the next step in their career, this position also offers a path toward future executive leadership.\nWhy Join L&M?\nDirect Partnership with the CFO\nPath to Executive Leadership\nMeaningful Ownership of the Accounting Function\nOpportunity to Influence Strategic Business Decisions\nProfit Sharing Program\nEmployee Referral Bonus Program\nTuition Assistance Program\nPaid Time Off & Paid Holidays\n401(k) with Company Match\nGrowing Family-Owned Company with a Team-Oriented Culture\nWhat You'll Do\nAs Controller, you'll lead the accounting team and own the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of L&M's financial reporting while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.\nResponsibilities include:\nLeading and developing the accounting team through coaching, guidance, and performance feedback\nPartnering closely with the CFO on financial strategy, business decisions, and process improvements\nPreparing, analyzing, and presenting accurate monthly and annual financial statements\nManaging cost accounting processes and ensuring accurate product costing\nLeading the annual budgeting and financial planning process\nManaging fixed assets and supporting capital budgeting and investment decisions\nOverseeing inventory control, physical inventory counts, and reconciliation\nCoordinating and leading the annual audit process with external auditors\nEnsuring compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting requirements\nPreparing financial reporting for lending, compliance, and other business needs\nIdentifying opportunities for cost reduction, improved controls, and greater efficiency\nSupporting the continued development of accounting processes, systems, and reporting\nCollaborating with Quality, Operations, and other departments to support company-wide goals\nPerforming other duties as assigned\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Accounting required\nCPA strongly preferred\n6-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment\n2-3+ years of experience in a financial management or accounting leadership role\nStrong understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting\nDemonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and inventory\nIn-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a team\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities\nStrong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the bigger business picture\nProficiency with accounting and reporting systems and Microsoft Office\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality\nCorrugated packaging or related industry experience is a plus\nMake an Impact at L&M\nAt L&M Corrugated, the Controller is more than the person responsible for the financial statements.
