The company supports a diverse portfolio of government programs and is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead its financial operations, government contract accounting, compliance, reporting, and strategic financial planning.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Director of Finance will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, accounting, compliance, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in Deltek Costpoint, government contracting, and financial operations within a manufacturing and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to partner with executive leadership to support continued organizational growth.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage and maintain the Deltek Costpoint accounting system, including project accounting and system configuration.\nOversee employee timesheet processing, labor distribution, and monthly PTO accruals.\nHandle government contract invoicing, including submissions through WAWF, IPP, GSA, and other applicable systems.\nProcess vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor records.\nManage accounts receivable, including customer receipts and collections.\nPerform bank transactions and reconciliations.\nRecord and reconcile revenue, billing, project income, and contract profitability.\nMaintain accurate credit card and intercompany transactions.\nCalculate, apply, and reconcile indirect cost pools, fringe, overhead, and G&A rates.\nSet up and maintain accounts, projects, employees, and vendors within Costpoint.\nReconcile all general ledger accounts monthly.\nPrepare monthly financial statements, executive reporting packages, cash flow reports, budgets, and forecasts.\nSupport inventory accounting, production reporting, and financial controls related to manufacturing and distribution.\nCollaborate with Operations, Program Management, HR, and executive leadership to monitor contract performance and project burn rates.\nLead finance process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and prepare for DCAA audits.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DCAA, and all applicable government contracting regulations.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nCPA, CFA, CGFM, or CMA designation preferred.\nMinimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.\nExpert-level experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.\nExtensive experience supporting government contractors.\nStrong understanding of DCAA compliance, FAR regulations, indirect rate structures, and cost-plus accounting.\nExperience with inventory management, manufacturing, or product distribution finance is highly preferred.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.\nAbility to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership.\nManufacturing & Product-Based Accounting: Experience supporting financial operations within a manufacturing, product-based, distribution, or similarly complex operating environment, including familiarity with inventory, cost accounting, procurement, and related financial controls, is strongly preferred. \nWork Environment:\nThis is a full-time, on-site position based in Fredericksburg, VA. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Finance will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization while helping build scalable processes to support continued growth.
