Shipping Agent

Shipping Agent will organize products for shipment and delivery and keep records regarding these transactions, such as shipping logs, certifications, drop shipments, UPS and Fed-EX. This position will also work on the shipping floor as needed to ship product. This position also requires the flexibility to work overtime when needed.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Communicates daily with inspection personnel, on-floor operators and customer service representatives as well as interacts with customers.

• Must verify the job, part number(s), digital pictures and part count.

• Entering data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recording data on the work order.

• Generates certification and packing lists for shipment of product.

• Processes online shipping for outside carriers.

• Works in UPS and FED EX online sites.

• Retrieves customer products for customer pickups.

• Upload Document Shipping Folder to Sonaca-NA Router.

• Delivers work orders and shipping documents to accounts payable for billing purposes.

• As directed by the Shipping supervisor and/or Lead, work on shipping floor when needed to unmask, do post prep, fin-pack, and anything else needed to ensure the customer’s products are shipped on time.

Other Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Work overtime, when required (including weekends), on short notice.

• Handle customer-supplied product with care.

• Manages time effectively so that production, quality and delivery schedules are met.

• Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strives to maintain good relations with others.

• Responds quickly to inquiries and follows up, as needed.

• Perform all basic filing as required in the Shipping Department.

• Maintains good housekeeping in the shipping office.

• Embraces change to ensure overall success of the company.

• Performs other duties, as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or High School Equivalency required .

• Must have ability to read and comprehend English.

• Must have computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word and Excel).

• Must have ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawing, mylars and sketches, as applicable to work being performed at Sonaca-NA.

• Must become proficient in using the Sonaca- NA Work Order Tracking Program, and the Sonaca- NA Quality System on SharePoint.

Physical Requirements:

This position will require an employee to work in both a factory and office environment. The site will contain mobility barriers with uneven ground-level and obstructed pathways. Working conditions at the job site will be indoor/outdoor with varying temperatures, and with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. The work environment characteristics described above are representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee must be able to perform the following physical requirements effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Must have ability to bend, twist and stretch arms above head and walk or stand for long periods of time.

• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 40 pounds safely. For lifting heavier objects, use the buddy system or proper equipment, i.e., dollies, hand truck, hoists, forklift.

• Must have sufficient hand/eye coordination.

• Must have standard visual acuity (correctable by prescription glasses or contacts meets the requirement) and have the ability to distinguish colors.
