You’ll operate at the intersection of software engineering, systems integration, and field delivery-configuring deployments, integrating customer systems and data, troubleshooting across the stack, and building new capabilities when configuration alone isn’t enough.\nThis position requires an active Secret clearance. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.\nRemote (U.S.-Based) | 50-75% Travel Required\nWe’re looking for an engineer who likes building where the mission happens. You’ll work directly with DoD customers and alongside our Product, Mission Engineering, and core engineering teams to get SPECTR working in real-world environments. Some problems will require configuration. Others will require an API integration, script, deployment change, or new software capability. Your job is to figure out what’s needed, build it, validate it with users, and help turn field solutions into repeatable product capability.\nResponsibilities\nDeploy, configure, integrate, and validate SPECTR in customer environments.\n\nWork directly with DoD users to understand mission workflows, technical constraints, and operational pain points.\n\nIntegrate SPECTR with customer systems, APIs, databases, data sources, networks, and mission applications.\n\nBuild production-quality integrations, APIs, scripts, automation, and software capabilities to solve field requirements.\n\nTroubleshoot issues across applications, databases, containers, cloud infrastructure, networking, and connected edge systems.\n\nSupport technical demonstrations, pilots, field tests, and operational deployments.\n\nPartner with Field Product Leads to translate operational needs into technical solutions and Capability Requests.\n\nWork with core engineering teams to transition useful field-developed capabilities into the SPECTR product.\n\nDocument configurations, technical solutions, and lessons learned to make future deployments faster and more repeatable.\n\nTravel approximately 50-75% to DoD installations and other customer locations.\n\nQualifications\nWhat We’re Looking For\nActive DoD Secret clearance.\n\n4+ years of software engineering, systems integration, solutions engineering, or similar technical experience.\n\nStrong development skills in C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.\n\nExperience developing and integrating REST APIs and working with relational databases/SQL.\n\nHands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production software.\n\nExperience with Linux, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS/AWS GovCloud.\n\nStrong understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed system troubleshooting.\n\nAbility to translate ambiguous customer requirements into working technical solutions.\n\nStrong communication skills and comfort working directly with technical and operational DoD stakeholders.\n\nAbility to operate independently, solve problems quickly, and work effectively in field environments.\n\nU.S. Citizenship required.\n\nAbility to travel 50-75%.\n\nBonus Points For\nExperience delivering software or integrated systems in DoD environments.\n\nExperience with RFID, IoT, sensor systems, edge computing, or asset tracking.\n\nExperience with .NET/C#, AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or GitLab.\n\nFamiliarity with RMF/ATO, IL5/IL6, or other DoD cybersecurity requirements.\n\nExperience deploying applications in disconnected, bandwidth-constrained, or edge environments.\n\nExperience rapidly prototyping solutions directly with customers.\n\nSecurity+, AWS, Kubernetes, or related certifications.\n\nActive Top Secret clearance.\n\nWhy This Role Matters\nSPECTR has to work where the mission happens-not just in a development environment.
