You will work across the full lifecycle of platform services, from initial design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and ongoing optimization.\nYou will collaborate with software developers and other platform engineers to improve delivery pipelines, automate infrastructure operations, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and strengthen overall platform reliability. By investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI delivers commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready artificial intelligence capabilities to federal agencies at commercial speed.\nHeadquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI supports the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors, helping agencies navigate complexity, modernize critical capabilities, and strengthen mission outcomes.\nResponsibilities\nWhat You’ll Do\nParticipate in the full lifecycle of platform services, including design, development, deployment, operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement using agile methodologies.\nSupport the design and launch of new services through architecture discussions, infrastructure development, capacity planning, technical reviews, and deployment readiness assessments.\nDesign, build, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines to support consistent, reliable, and secure application delivery.\nApply DevSecOps principles to integrate security scanning, automated testing, and compliance checks into build and deployment workflows.\nDevelop and maintain Python and Bash scripts to automate infrastructure operations, eliminate repetitive tasks, and improve engineering efficiency.\nMonitor and maintain production services, evaluating availability, latency, performance, and overall system health to ensure platform reliability.\nManage containerized applications and Kubernetes environments, including deployment configurations, resource management, troubleshooting, and operational improvements.\nImplement and improve release management processes, including artifact versioning, deployment strategies, upgrades, and rollback capabilities.\nCollaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to resolve technical challenges, improve deployment practices, and strengthen application performance and reliability.\nIdentify opportunities to improve platform scalability, reliability, and deployment velocity through automation and engineering enhancements.\nParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, and retrospectives to identify improvements and prevent recurring issues.\nQualifications\nWhat We’re Looking For\n7-10 years of experience in DevSecOps engineering, platform engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.\n5+ years of experience programming in Python, including debugging, optimizing code, and developing automation for infrastructure and operational tasks.\nStrong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based environments.\nDemonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD.\nExperience integrating automated security scans of source code and build artifacts into deployment pipelines, including implementing security-based deployment controls.\nStrong understanding of containerization technologies and experience deploying and managing containerized web applications.\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms such as Amazon EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or similar technologies.\nExperience managing application release artifacts, version control, deployment rollouts, upgrades, and rollback procedures.\nProficiency with Bash scripting and command-line tools for system administration, troubleshooting, and automation.\nAbility to collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams and provide technical guidance on application development, deployment, and platform integration.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a systematic approach to investigating and resolving complex technical problems.\nEffective communication skills, strong technical ownership, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nU.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.\nTarget salary range is $101144.97 - $174591.79\nDisclaimer: The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
