ACWS is built on the Appian Platform. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.\nResponsibilities\nThe ideal candidate will partner closely with Appian developers, system architects, DevSecOps engineers, information assurance personnel, and functional teams to ensure database services support current operations, application releases, and future enhancements.\nMonitor and maintain database health across production, test, development, and other supported ACWS environments.\nPerform proactive database maintenance, performance tuning, query optimization, capacity planning, and health monitoring.\nDesign and implement database schemas, data models, indexes, and migration strategies supporting application enhancements.\nSupport database security, hardening, patching, access controls, and compliance with applicable STIG and DoD requirements.\nManage backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster preparedness procedures in accordance with approved operational processes.\nTroubleshoot database errors, performance problems, connectivity issues, locking or resource contention, and data discrepancies.\nSupport Appian application teams with database design, SQL development, query optimization, data troubleshooting, and release activities.\nCoordinate with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams on database deployment automation, configuration management, monitoring, and patching.\nSupport data migrations, upgrades, schema changes, and integration activities while minimizing operational impact.\nMaintain database documentation, runbooks, configuration records, and operational procedures.\nParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and corrective action activities for database-related issues.\nParticipate in Agile planning and release activities and communicate database risks, dependencies, and technical recommendations to stakeholders.\nQualifications\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.\n3+ years of database administration experience supporting enterprise applications or mission-critical systems.\nStrong experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle and/or SQL Server.\nStrong expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with database security, patching, hardening, and STIG or equivalent compliance requirements.\nExperience with SQL, schema design, data modeling, query optimization, and database migration activities.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nActive Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.\nU.S. citizenship required.\nDESIRED SKILLS\nOracle Certified Professional (OCP) or comparable database certification.\nExperience supporting database services for the Appian Platform or other Appian-based enterprise applications preferred.\nExperience with Appian data stores, application performance, and Appian-related database troubleshooting.\nExperience with MarkLogic, NoSQL, or other non-relational database technologies.\nExperience with AWS database services or cloud-hosted database environments.\nScripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar automation tools.\nExperience supporting Army, DoD, federal acquisition, or other highly regulated mission-critical systems.\nThe target salary range for this position goes up to $140,000.\nThe salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
