Make independent decisions on research problems, technology investigations and new or improved product development.\nEssential Job Functions\nCreate documentation (drawings, specifications, ECOs) for electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.\nLead designer of parts and assemblies.\nWork as part of a multi-disciplined development team of engineers, designers and technicians.\nMaintain proper documentation to substantiate patent applications and provide technical consultation when requested.\nSuggest innovations, design improvements and cost reductions for existing products.\nParticipate in cross-functional design reviews at key milestones during the project life cycle.\nParticipate in prototype and pilot production builds.\nComplete assignments within approved project budget and schedule parameters. \nQualifications\nTraining and/or Experience\n5+ years progressive experience in an electro-mechanical product development environment with a proven track record of accomplishments.\nA background in consumer products is desirable.\nFamiliar with PLM systems (Agile preferred) is desirable but not required.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nFamiliarity with major 3D modeling software is an asset.\nA solid understanding of Mechanical Drafting procedures and standards.\nWorking knowledge of mechanical design packages (i.e., Solid Works, AutoCad, Solid Edge).\nAbility to interact and collaborate with immediate team, as well and junior and senior colleagues.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
