Supervisors provide leadership and support to loaders, switchman, warehouse staff, and dock operators for whom they are responsible. This support includes the safe and reliable execution of work activities pursuant to Loadstar and customer procedure and applicable regulations. Supervisors are the backbone of the Loadstar in-plant operations and enjoy significant autonomy and decision-making authority. \n\nJob Requirements \nMinimum two years industry logistics experience. \nPossession of a valid and current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and valid Driver’s License. \nMust have railcar and truck loading/unloading and dock operation experience.\nExcellent overall knowledge and adherence to Loadstar Safety Management System and other applicable company policies and procedures \n\nJob Duties & Responsibilities\nAct as the primary point of contact for customer communications, addressing service needs, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement. \nEnsure that all employees understand and adhere to mandated procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. \nFoster a positive work environment and maintain high employee morale by providing leadership, support, and encouragement to the team. \nEnsure that employees receive proper training and are adequately prepared for their shifts, contributing to overall operational readiness. \nParticipate in applicant interviews and hiring processes to select qualified candidates who align with the company's values and objectives. \nLead by example, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and adherence to company standards in all aspects of your work. \nContinuously support and assist field employees to ensure their success and address any challenges they encounter. \nOversee the training of newly hired or licensed field workers, ensuring they are confident and prepared for their roles. \nConduct regular employee evaluations, provide feedback, and encourage development and succession planning to foster career growth. \nHandle employee discipline and conduct coaching meetings when necessary to address performance issues and promote improvement. \nPromptly respond to operational incidents, oversee corrective actions, facilitate lessons learned discussions, and ensure thorough investigations are conducted. \nEmbrace safety and environmental care as fundamental values of leadership, promoting a culture of responsibility and awareness among employees. \nConduct routine audits on field employees at job sites and organize safety meetings to educate employees and discuss observation findings. \nWork closely with Loadstar Marine Logistics to address work coverages and problem-solving initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective operations. \nPhysical Requirements \nAbility to speak, write, read fluent English and have good vision. \nFrequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls \nOccasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands
