You will serve as a primary technical authority / technical interface with internal program management and external customers. Specific duties include:\nEnsuring proposals have sound, affordable technical solutions and schedules.\nCoordinating/collaborating with program management to:\nMake key decisions, balancing technical needs and business constraints to meet program objectives\nEnsure program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and modern Engineering Practices.\nDetermine the appropriate program risk posture and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects.\nLeading a technical team of cross functional engineers to\nEnsure successful system/product development and execution, managing technical scope and prioritizing problems for investigation.\nEvaluate and implement cost effective, innovative/novel solutions\nChampion airworthiness/mission success and drive an airworthiness/mission success culture.\nEnsure selected designs are robust and include appropriate margins to facilitate safety, performance, producibility and operational availability/supportability.\nIdentify lessons-learned and initiate/implement corrective actions to improve ongoing and future programs.\nProvide technical mentoring and career development support to the team and allocating resources effectively.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in STEM discipline\nExperience as a chief engineer or technical leader on an aerospace program\nStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to distill and articulate complex issues into succinct, cohesive executive summaries\nDesired Skills\nMaster’s degree in STEM discipline\nChief engineer experience to include technical oversight of an aircraft technical baseline, risk & opportunity management, and conduct of System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR)\nExperience in the design, flight test and/or operation of military aircraft\nExperience in aircraft flight operations and sustainment to include field repair and aircraft sortie generation\nExperience with Safety Management Systems(SMS)\nExperience with airworthiness certification for software and hardware systems\nPassion for personal accountability, achievement, learning and continual improvement\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $205300.00 - $381300.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
