The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes and database administration, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data platform, including data pipelines. You will work closely with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of our data systems with our applications and services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain our data platform, including data pipelines\nDevelop and implement Kubernetes-based data infrastructure, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications\nAdminister and optimize databases, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)\nDevelop and maintain data pipelines and maintain highly available vector databases, such as Weaviate\nCollaborate with engineering teams to integrate data systems with applications and services\nEnsure data security, compliance, and governance, including data encryption, access control, and auditing\nMonitor and optimize data platform performance, including latency, throughput, and resource utilization\nDevelop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical guides, and operational runbooks\nResponsible for development of IT solutions across all components of software systems through design, integration, implementation and support. Proficient in infrastructure, security, software development, database management systems, and systems integration. Develops using agile processes and common technology stacks.\nBasic Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in data platform engineering, with a focus on Kubernetes and database engineering\nStrong experience with containerized applications\nStrong understanding of data pipelines or data storage (ex. data ingestion, processing, and storage)\nStrong programming skills or software development in languages such as Python, Java, or GoLang\nExperience with development methodologies and version control systems such as Git\nDesired Skills\nExperience with database administration, including high availability PostgreSQL architecture\nExperience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK\nFamiliarity with patterns behind event-based observability systems, including queuing, batching, persistence, retries, and event replay\nFamiliarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL).\nFamiliarity with logging and monitoring best practices for databases and applications.\nFamiliarity with vector databases, such as Weaviate, Milvus, or ChromaDB\nCreative and resourceful when it comes to problem-solving\nA passionate can-do attitude.
