Standard Job Description

You will be the Electrical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). Our team delivers precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, designing, building and fielding the electrical hardware that powers missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems for the United States and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Electrical Engineer you will serve as the primary technical liaison for PAC-3 electronics, lead failure investigations, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to keep the program on schedule, within budget, and compliant with all contract requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the main technical contact for PAC-3 electronic hardware throughout development and production.
  • Leading root-cause investigations, defining corrective actions, and providing clear disposition recommendations for production hardware.
  • Presenting technical issues and status updates to program leadership and, when needed, to SHIELD with concise, audience-appropriate briefings.
  • Coordinating activities between production sites and the program to clear DD250 constraints.
  • Managing updates to the Technical Data Package, preparing change proposals, and presenting them to change-review boards.
  • Working with Sub-Contracts Management to oversee supplier activities, evaluate vendor proposals for technical compliance, and monitor a major subcontractor’s performance.
  • Executing Engineering Change and Material Review Board processes, including non-conformance assessments and failure investigations.
  • Supporting obsolescence planning and mitigation to maintain long-term product viability.
  • Conducting risk assessments, trade studies, and recommending technical solutions as issues arise.
  • Collaborating with systems, mechanical, software, test, quality, and logistics teams to resolve constraints and drive integrated solutions.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with troubleshooting Analog and Digital Electronics
  • Working knowledge of lab equipments such as Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM, signal Generators, spectrum analyzers
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Ability to travel approx. 10% of time domestically.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

  • DoD Secret or Top Secret.
  • Prior experience of PAC-3 program, Production processes, Failure Investigation, Root Cause and Corrective Actions
  • Experience with developing BOEs, reviewing suppliers’ BOEs.
  • Certified or working knowledge of CAM
  • Experience working with suppliers and leading suppliers during failure investigation
  • Strong background in cross-discipline systems engineering practices including requirements development/maintenance, architecture, hardware/software design, integration and verification

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
