Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas.\nWe are growing rapidly and seeking an experienced, hands-on Electro-Optical (EO) Engineer who is passionate about EO modeling and can apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop optimized solutions for complex challenges.\nWhat you will be doing:\nYour skill set should include exposure to physics-based modeling, passive system design, and/or algorithm development.\nExperience with threat signature modeling is highly valued.\nAlthough this is a technical contributor role, the EO Engineer must be able to communicate analysis at the appropriate level to a diverse audience including other technical experts, customers, and senior management.\nUnderstanding of modern US defense systems specifically focused on EO/IR\nBasic Qualifications\nCandidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the following Electro-Optical Engineering assignments:\nDemonstrated knowledge or experience with EO systems that include of advanced optical/infrared material and coatings.\nDemonstrated knowledge or experience in radiometric EO analysis and simulation and/or laser beam propagation modeling.\nAbility to perform design and analysis of EO candidate systems for both ground and airborne sensor suite applications.\nAbility to define and/or access and utilize target threat signatures in EO modeling.\nAbility to utilize MATLAB when running EO performance analysis simulations or developing target models.\nAbility to conduct parametric studies to support advanced EO targeting sensor and seeker development.\nAbility to model design solutions that can be fabricated for laboratory test and characterization prior to development, including development of test setups and procedures.\nAbility to support the design and specification of instrumentation for integrated system level tower and field testing.\nAbility to take initiative within assigned tasks, ask clarifying questions when needed, and reliably follow through on commitments under the guidance of more experienced engineers.\nMust be a US Citizen as a Interim Clearance is needed to start. \nDesired Skills\nExperience with IR systems trades, performance analysis, and traceability / performance link budgets\nKnowledge of industry tools: MATLAB, MathCAD, MODTRAN6\nCharacterization of laser systems (pulse energy, divergence, beam profiles), measurement of TPMs, and designing test procedures\nModeling threat signatures given GFI data, or modeling engagement scenarios and associated parameters\nSystem level modeling experience- integration with pointing systems, LOS accuracy / Algo performance budgets, requirements/digital engineering activities.\nCurrent TS/SCI Clearance\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
