We are looking for a highly motivated Electro-Optical Lead Systems Engineer to become a member of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) and drive requirements and verification strategy through all system design reviews to sell-off. You will provide end-to-end governance, maintenance, and strategic direction of Electro-Optical requirements across the program lifecycle, from preliminary design through deployment. As part of the systems leadership group you will direct a team in the development and management of specifications, requirements, and verification material, interface documents, and related engineering documents. This will include leading coordination of the systems team across multiple geographically distributed sites and interacting with the larger program team, sub-contractor teams, customer team, and executive management. Your responsibilities in this role will include the following:\nManage a team of 10-15 systems engineers while providing strategic leadership\nDirect and oversee the systems engineering work plan, resource allocation, and team delivery to ensure mission success.\nLead cross-functional collaboration with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to develop, analyze, and verify system requirements and interfaces, ensuring documentation and governance accordingly.\nProvide technical oversight and strategic guidance on component needs, driving cross-functional groups to deliver solutions that meet system and customer requirements.\nDirect verification planning, execution, and analysis coordination across distributed sites and stakeholder groups.\nLead and chair system engineering, analysis, and integration activities, driving decision-making and technical resolution throughout the program lifecycle.\nEstablish and direct system compliance frameworks, objective evidence creation, and documentation standards.\nDirect and lead system design reviews, ensuring alignment with technical baselines, customer requirements, and program objectives.\nAdditional managerial responsibilities include people development, budget/schedule accountability, and strategic planning for systems engineering deliverables.\nBasic Qualifications\nExperienced leading teams with complex, competing priorities maximizing success across multiple objectives and constraints\nProficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including experience with Cameo or similar.\nExperience with requirements management and verification (including requirement engineering, requirements management, verification and validation, test planning)\nProducing and maintaining ICDs\nUnderstanding of systems architecture, interface control, and requirement traceability concepts.\nExcellent communication skills-able to produce clear documentation and present technical information to diverse audiences.\nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams and influence without direct authority.\nDesired Skills\nStrategic Vision & Execution\nExperience with space-based electro-optical payload systems and their sub-systems and components; including design, development, testing; EO/IR, RF, electro-optical, sensor, laser, spacecraft, and ground systems\nKnowledge of industry-standard verification methodologies as well as tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent\nFamiliarity with traceability between requirements, design, verification and objective evidence\nExperience with reviewing and evaluating verification Objective Evidence and collaborating with engineering design teams to identify and resolve verification issues\nPrior experience with planning and execution of major milestone reviews (such as SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)\nKnowledge of systems engineering for full space mission architectures, including both space and ground segments\nExperience with new mission and system architecture development, concept development, and technology maturation.\nFamiliarity with one or more of the following: electronics and FPGA technical experience, electro-optical sensor system technical experience, space-based systems technical experience\nExperience working with multi-disciplinary technical and/or engineering teams\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail\nExperience in programs ranging from Class A to Class D development environments\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
