Come and experience your future!\nTHE WORK\nSupport the Sikorsky Facilities Design, Construction, and Engineering organization by managing the engineering design for major projects and rearrangement activities across four Connecticut sites, encompassing a total of approximately 3 million square feet.\nAssist in the preparation and monitoring of project schedules and costs, ensuring adherence to the established project budget and spend profile for design efforts.\nCoordinate and oversee the bidding and procurement processes for all design efforts in collaboration with established consulting firms.\nProvide technical guidance and support to various Sikorsky entities on engineering facilities design, with potential travel as required.\nCollaborate closely with the Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) organization to support initiatives and programs, including Go Green energy reduction projects.\nWHO WE ARE\nOur customers are world-wide and so is our reputation for creating original solutions with the latest technologies. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.\nBasic Qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, or a closely related field\n- 3+ years of experience designing oversight and planning participation for small to large scale construction projects\n- Experience developing designs for new and renovated buildings\n- Experience reviewing and ensuring application of proper building codes in project designs.\n\nDesired Skills\nAbility to communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure designs meet criteria for scope intent, quality, budget, and schedule\nKnowledge of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process\nKnowledge in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection.\nExperience in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating.\nExperience in the bidding and review process\nStrong organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to internal and external customers\nTeam player willing to work in a creative, fast paced atmosphere.\nFlexible and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.\nProficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project, Word, Power Point, and Excel.\nExperience in reading and modifying Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.\nParticipation in Six Sigma initiatives including training, 3P and VSM events, QCPC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.\n\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
