The team provides full product lifecycle support including prototype design & build, development and integration of the build documentation and supporting requirements of full production build.\nThis role will focus on involvement through the full product lifecycle, with the aim to reduce manufacturing costs and improve yield at all stages, which will directly impact our customers, whilst supporting the Programme in delivery of the milestones.\nThe Manufacturing Engineer will:\nDevelop manufacturing processes.\nApply Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) Principles into early design reviews to reduce complexity, cost, and lead time\nPFMEA creation for new and existing processes, ensuring all critical failure modes are identified and mitigated\nDefining sequence of operations, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing and material handling taking into account flow and lean philosophies.\nSupport digital twin development with simulation models to provide cost estimates, throughput assessments, and guides process-development decisions.\nProviding Basis of Estimates for engineering activities and shop floor operations across a range of technologies and disciplines.\nIdentifying any new tooling & fixturing requirements.\nExperienced in the creation of Technical Requirement Specifications.\nCreation of detailed process instructions.\nCreation of Manufacturing BOM’s / routings to aid ease of manufacture.\nSupport and contribute the relevant section of the Technology Roadmap to identify improvements to current manufacturing processes and future requirements.\nAssist with the Technical requirements of the relevant section of the Capital plan from definition to acceptance.\nSupporting full rate production of a range of products aligned to the LMUK Ampthill Business requirements.\nClose liaison of activities with Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering and other functions as necessary.\nSupport with the business process reviews and generation / update of relevant documentation.\n\nThe successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate level (SC) of security clearance.
