Your work will directly enable the delivery of high-performance components and assemblies that meet stringent aerospace specifications and national security needs.\nIn this role you will:\nLead the creation of manufacturing bills of materials (MBOMs) and master routings to ensure accurate production planning.\nDevelop and qualify welding procedures, including advanced processes such as friction stir welding and robotic welding, to meet program requirements.\nDrive continuous-improvement initiatives by troubleshooting floor issues, analyzing weld defects, and implementing corrective actions.\nCoordinate production-readiness reviews, providing technical insight and performance data to the Manufacturing Program Manager.\nMentor and train welders and manufacturing personnel, enhancing weld quality and consistency across the center.\nEvaluate material selections and process assessments, recommending optimal solutions for complex alloys and specialty materials.\nCommunicate drawing intent, work instructions, and weld specifications clearly to CNC programmers, machinists, and assembly teams.\nOptimize lean manufacturing practices, applying lean principles to improve workflow and reduce waste.\nWho You Are:\nYou are a skilled welding and manufacturing engineer with strong problem-solving abilities, adept at translating complex technical requirements into reliable production processes. You excel at collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, driving continuous improvement, and communicating technical insights clearly.\nMust be a US Citizen.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nFamilar with conventional welding processes (e.g., Gas Metal Arc Weilding, Gas Tungsten Arc Weilding) and ability to develop and qualify weld procedures.\nProven problem solving and analytical skills, especially for diagnosing and correcting weld defects.\nFamiliarity with industry welding standards and the weld qualification process.\nPractical, hands on experience with welding or other manufacturing processes, including basic GD&T concepts.\nMust be a US Citizen.;This position is located at a facility that requires special access.\nDesired Skills\nProficiency with robotic welding systems and automation technologies.\nKnowledge of friction stir welding (FSW) principles and applications.\nBasic understanding of metallurgy, materials science, heat treatment, and material behavior under stress.\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.\nStrong ability to communicate and interpret drawing intent, work instructions, and weld requirements to manufacturing personnel.\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $58200.00 - $108200.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
