Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability. Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance. Facilitate technical trade-offs and standardization that may lead to more economical procurement. Recommends design changes to mitigate production issues. Leads teams of Supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.\n\nExperience with quality or manufacturing engineering processes or policies and/or quality systems management requirements.\n\nThis may require the willingness/ability to travel to support program issues/needs as they arise.\nDesired Skills\nBackground in a STEM discipline (e.g., engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field).\nPrior experience working with Aerostructures line of business.\nAbility to read and interpret drawings and industry/line of business specifications.\nPrior Quality Engineer experience.\nPrior use of root cause corrective action tools.\nProficiency with discrepancy documents or SAP or other databases\nAbility to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.\nPay Information\nGeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States.
