You will continuously assess quality inspection processes for automation opportunities and deploy technologies aimed at increasing throughput, reducing costs, and improving product quality.\nYou will partner closely with production sites and Lines of Business (LOBs) to identify opportunities where process improvements and technological automation can be deployed and scaled. Key responsibilities include managing automation projects and integrating factory-floor machines, robotics, sensors, and plant networks for seamless interoperability to optimize inspection and boost production performance.\nDuties include, but are not limited to:\nIdentifying high-impact factory-floor processes for automation and developing business cases with clear ROI justifications.\nDesigning and deploying automated inspection and test systems (including machine vision) to detect defects early in the production lifecycle.\nEvaluating and selecting automation equipment, technologies, and third-party vendors for scalability and seamless integration into current and future manufacturing lines.\nConfiguring factory-floor layouts for equipment-machines, robotics, sensors, and control systems-and integrating them with plant networks and enterprise MES/ERP systems to ensure seamless data flow.\nCollaborating with site-level cross-functional teams and Program Quality Engineering to solve complex technical challenges with a focus on continuous improvement.\nApplying hands-on expertise in production operations, manufacturing, and quality control processes.\nDriving strategies, best practices, and standard methodologies to strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS) and mentor engineering talent.\nBasic Qualifications\nMust be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain an Intreim Secret Clearance prior to start.\nBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.\nHands-on knowledge of industrial controls and manufacturing machinery (e.g., Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs, CNC machinery, machine vision inspection systems / OCR).\nExperience with manufacturing operations and familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP, MES, or PLM.\nConceptual knowledge of quality standards and methodologies: AS9100 / ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).\nBasic Knowledge of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), specifications, and technical requirements.\nProven understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis).\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.\nDesired Skills\nHands-on experience deploying robotics applications and automation cells (e.g., FANUC, ABB) in a high-rate manufacturing environment.\nProficiency with Python and SQL for developing automated test scripts, data pipelines, and quality analytics dashboards.\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP) for machine data and image transfer.\nWorking knowledge of CAD/CAM software.\nExperience with the complete lifecycle of integrated system design and deployment (e.g., Factory Acceptance Testing [FAT], Site Acceptance Testing [SAT], machinery design, and blueprint sign-off).\nStrong data analytics acumen and practical application of advanced statistical tools.\nFormal Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).\nDemonstrated ability to thrive and lead in dynamic, fast-paced team environments.\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
